So let me get this straight...You back the growth of non-ALPA carriers at the expense of ALPA carriers because you're trying to prove a point?
Where did I say I support any of this? I thought I made it clear that this was a concessionary contract that sux. You might want to get use to that word concessionary. You will no longer going to be living in your sheltered world with plentiful growth and limited competition. There's an RJ glut and the RJ vendors that can compete for the contracts will grow and thrive and those that can't will whither on the vine. Competition has come to DCI, Get use to it. Lucky for you the Delta pilots expended some much needed negotiating capital to at least get you some DCI scope.
Most importantly, we didn't rub it in your face when bad news came your way.
That is an amazing statement coming from a pilot group that refused to support the hiring of furloughed Delta pilots. You're amazing.
Its really no consolation that we called you out on that baseless "brand scope," deal you promised would make everything better, because it obviously didn't stop the very thing we wanted it to prevent.
Who promised you that it would be all better over night? At least the Delta pilots have stepped up to the plate to get the ball rolling on brand scope. What have you done besides deny ALPA pilots who are furloughed a job?
Instead you changed the rules to allow it!
Be specific, what rules have we changed that put you out of the running for this growth opportunity? BVT, as soon as we conceded the E-170, was there ever any doubt that it was coming to DCI?
Contrary to popular belief, Comair has the lowest cost structure of all the regionals, yes even lower than CHQ.
We really don't know the true numbers on CMR. Delta does not release CMR's actual costs to the public and DAL hasn't done that since CMR was acquired as a wholly owned subsidiary. But what we do know is that CMR has failed to get any growth aircraft in the last two RFPs, while every other DCI carrier has. Kind of makes you wonder why CMR is so non competitive for all this future DCI growth.
CHQ won the flying because Delta couldn't take any more debt.
Do you have a source for that statement? Delta has never had a problem getting financing for RJs. It's my understanding that Delta cosigned for the loan and the agreement was based on a 14 year commitment from DAL to these 170's. If US could get the funding in BK, do you really want to make the argument that DAL couldn't outside of BK?
Now do you see why the RJDC is thriving as much as they are. The more you abuse the Comair pilots, the deeper the RJDC pockets are going to get...and I never supported them!
And you think an RJDC victory would facilitate creating brand scope. Now that's funny. The RJDC is going nowhere. 9 out of 10 claims summarily dismissed before discovery. Yeah, they're on a roll. Here we are a year and a half into discovery and they still can't present a case. LOL.
