Yes, that would be nice. But I think I speak for a bunch of us when I say that you could buy a house with an income of far less than $100K--it's just about how much "luxury" you think that you need.
I would submit that all luxury is marginal, meaning it really isn't that important. Say I have the option of buy a Lexus vs. a Toyota--they both get me from point A to point B in safety and comfort and efficiency, and in the same amount of time, so the luxury is marginal, meaning that the fancy stuff like leather seats and power windows and whatever "crap" they install on the car to raise the price isn't worth the extra money you pay. Some cars have wipers on the headlights. In my 14 years of driving, I would have used that approximately two times. Give me a break.

P.S. And as far as movies go, if everyone needed $100k to go to movies, the theatres would be empty. You just can't go every night... but who would want to do that?
