Just because you preface a statement with "with all do respect" doesn't absolve you of the responsibility of the words you just said. Who are you to dictate to this guy and call names about what slice of America he can or should have? Your own jealousy and envy clouds your mind and you need to check yourself right here. Personally if you said that to my face you'd be swallowing chiclets....

Post reported.

well with all do respect you get can go ******* yourself. What are you talking about jealousy?Jelaousy over what chump? Am I stepping on your toes? and yeah I will say it to your face and I think you'd be the toothless one here chump. So bring it. Maricon

With all do respect man, if you can't make it with 100k a year, (8333.33 a month)then you need to tell your wife that she doesnt need that SUV for the only 1 kid you have, and she needs to stop pissing your money away on BS like AVON, Mary Kay and sh**. And you need to get out of that 6 bedroom house when it's only 3 of you. You dont need 4 cars either chump. Now if you live in the North East or West Coast then MOVE!!! Yeah, 150K is better than 100K, 200k is waaaaaay better than 100K but my god man! If you're strugling with 100k I cant wait to see you when you get furloughed and have to try to make it with home depot salary. Greedy d*****

You're kidding right? I mean seriously do you believe the crap you just said? Or is what you have to tell yourself when you try to explain to your wife why you can't go on those trips, own that second house, the nice car. He hun we live in the middle of nowhere but we're doing it on 100k a year, aren't we happy? Eeecch

I'm not struggling at all with the 100k I make. I also enjoy the finer things in life that come with making more than 100k. Sorry if it irks you because there are have and have not's. If i get furloughed or fired I won't be working at home depot.

Good luck to you. Maybe you can scrape some pennies together and take the kidies out for a mcflurry in your gay electric car.

I think what you said sound pretty worthless to me. Anybody that judges their life or others by how much money they make has some real issues. No amount of money makes up for the really important things in life. Usually "the finer things in life" are just used by people to make up for their shortcomings and justify their shallow lives. Good luck with the pursuit of stuff if that is what you idolize.
The two guys from eagle sound like they are going after the right prize, a great family which they will be an active participant.

I'd have to agree.

Sadly, there are people in this world who apparently don't get the fickleness of life and the world of duality. Right now, he's apparently on top of the world. Next week, a loved one could be diagnosed with terminal cancer or lose their life outright in a manner that doesn't make sense. A TOTAL financial issue could place them in places he never dreamed.

It's easy to "rate" yourself against others in this world in the hope of convincing yourself that you are more worthy then "them". It's the same reason pilots at majors belittle senior regional pilots as defective because they look at their lives and the world differently with a different set of values and belittle them for not seeing the world according to them. Come to think of it, that's what Al-Queada does when it looks at the U.S.

There are parallels there. It's an illusion, but too many people are only comfortable in their illusions.

Many people are "doing well" on 100K/year and many making twice that are up to their a$$ in debt. Many people making 60K/year exist in content and happiness, much to the disgust of other "dieselites".

A sad fact of life it is.

BTW, 3,359 posts in almost 6 years equals about 560 posts/year or about 47 posts/week. I think someone has TOO much time on their hands and needs more productivity in their life instead on cyberdeadbeatism.

Since when did life become about material things. I'm lucky enough to be able to have both an excellent QOL.

I even took a paycut to make my OOL better. Flybet saying 100k should be enough and you should be happy is good for him but I want better for my family. Both in terms of QOL and pay. The two don't go hand in hand but sometimes just sometimes you are lucky and worked hard to have both.

I lost my father recently and was lucky enough both being with a great qol company and also in a financial position to take a year off and get his affairs in order. You can't do that under a mountain of debt....

respectfully
a pilot who knows his worth and QOL and fights for them both.

I wouldn't argue with THAT.

But what gives you the right to judge others happiness ?

Why do you apparently believe it a requirement that THEIR happiness is something you quantify based on YOUR ideals ?

Seems a bit self-centered and presumptuous to me.

How many people pay the money we do for education and then think 100k is the pot at the end of the rainbow?
My brother (after 5 years of great sales in a different industry) started this year in medical sales, 90k to start plus car, gas, expenses account.
We, as a professional whole, are chumps!!
Somehow, I got with a company that treats me like an executive first, then a pilot.
The jobs are out there, and an 18 year pay scale does not mean they want you to stay. I was 36 when I upgraded at ASA and almost thought it as a career airline because of the great DFW crews and schedules (even naps were good)! After being forced to ATL I quickly changed my mind!! Fly safe- Rum

I'm not saying at 100k you're not happy but if you go back to my beginning post i pointed out that 100k for 18 years of service WTFO.

100k a year is doing well?

Thats Year 5 capt pay at a fractional.
there are lies, damn lies, and...

avantair - $72,000
citationshares - $91,000
flexjet (lear) - $87,776
flight options (small) - $66,372
netjets (560/400) - $90,000

stupid senior eagle guys being happy with $100k. if they'd just get with the program they could make that much again in 10 years at a fractional.

You're looking at the 7n7

Reserve is 106,810

Thats without overtime which i don't count but there is a ton of it.

Compared to Year 5 Capt on the 700 (are there any) which is 71 an hour. Year 18 is 98 an hour.

A year 18 captain would be on the BBJ but lets say he likes the EASY so it would be 167k 7n7 or reserve 198k with 4 weeks of vacation. Every week of vacation is 3 weeks off.

7n7 6 months of work.
3 weeks of vacation=5 months 1 week
2 weeks of sick time= 4 months 3 weeks
2 weeks of training (aircraft)= 4 months 1 week
1 week of company recurrent= 4months

Now thats QOL

Listen to you man! You sound soooo godda** materialistic!!! There's so much more than money. It just shows that you dont know, I might not make alot of money but I have a wife that takes care of me, when I get home from a two day trip she picks me up in the ONE car we have, we go to our APARTMENT where my little baby girl runs to my arms happy to see me, I sit at the table and my wife brings me a home cooked dinner made from scratch. We then sit and talk about our plans and how things are going. I play with my kid, laugh, enjoy every second. She goes to sleep my wife and I watch a blockbuster movie delivered to us, we have a beer, eat some popcorn and then after a good intimate two hours we go to bed, while i watch them both sleep and laugh at late night family guy i thank the good lord for giving me such a healthy family and marriage. We have family BBQ's and get togethers about 3 times a week were my parents and in-laws get to enjoy their grand kid. I take my kid and wife to Dave n Busters were we eat, laugh and play games. All this and at half 100K, all of this and my wife doesnt work, she can stay home take care of my baby, take care of my house and relax as much as she wants. So as you can see I still enjoy things with my family and take trips every year without any worries. Can you imagine how much peace I am going to have at 100K. Oh man! So dont try to make it seem that some of us make a little less are just tight on money, with no future and that our families are eating sh**, dumba$$.
Oh and I drive dont drive an electric car, but at the same time I dont need a Jaguar to be happy and a 1 million dollar house to be happy. I would not trade my loving, caring wife and baby for whatever you have.

But again! You're going back to the MONEY!!!! Some people dont like the 7on 7off schedule. Some prefer day trips, or 2 day trips. Some prefer the airline type flying....so does that mean that they are doomed? Or that everyone should just learn to like being gone away for 7 days straight to make more money in 5 years?? I dont know man... I guess some of use are idiots b/c we dont think like you.

wait, i thought your argument was that a 5yr "fractional" guy had it better than an 18yr eagle guy. when in fact only one company comes close, and that's if you go to the sweet reserve schedule, which we know everyone wants.

now you're enlightening everyone that an 18 year BBJ guy has a sweet life. what a non sequitor. why don't they just become CEOs. those guys make millions.

i think the earlier posters got it right. some guy says he's happy with what he's got, but you have to butt in with a netjets commercial.

in what alternate universe does 3 weeks of company training NOT count as work? isn't that what you guys are always giving citationshares guff about?

Maybe the senior Eagle guy is living in base, doing mostly day trips and 2-days, while you are on the road for seven days at a time. Maybe he sees his wife and kids almost every night, while you go a week at a time away. He already stated he gets around 16 days off a month, which is more than your 14 on the 7on 7off schedule. I think his priorities are pretty damn solid, and that earns him my deepest respect, way more than some stuck up BBJ driver who cares about his money first, and family second.
