MCOE175, you go to the store on your day off dressed in full uniform don't you?

Pay scales at RPA are aligned pretty close to PDTs, except the Capt rates cap out at $119/hr--add E175 overide and its about $127/hr--(vs LCC's E190 95/hr and PDT's 78/hr) FO rates at RPA don't go above 5th year. Up until March, it was a 2.5 year upgrade time.

So, considering the pay credit as PDT is consistently 25-30 percent more than republic, are you saying that PDT pilots make more per paycheck until they get to the Capt rates you mentioned? With half the seats?

Your formula, based on prior post of PDT pilots averaging 100+ hours of pay each month (which I believe, mine was about 102 when I was there) assumes RPA pilots make only straight guarantee. That is not accurate in my opinion. I looked at my last three months pay stubs and I averaged a little over 95 hours of pay credit. FO to FO, probably yes. Given the seniority disparity at PDT (lots of senior captains from the '70's and '80's) and the juniority captains at RPA (industry, top fifty guys have DOHs in the late '90s), the payroll at PDT is probably higher. Because of the ASMs and CASMs, RPA might be more profitable, I don't know. PDT's bottom line was always a mystery in the Group picture. RPA has been profitable from day one.

Over all, yes, I think your assessment is correct, less the percentage disparity. PDT continues to be a great place to cut your teeth on 121 Ops...given you can get through JK's NASA program for the Dash. ;) How long it will last...for any of us, is unknown.

All I have to say is: Arguing on the internet is like running a race in the special olympics.... Even if you win, you are still retarded.....

There are good guys and gals at all three companies. Some people will argue over these stupid differences that none of us have any real control over in all reality. We all work for the regionals, and the good old days of the glamorous main line job are long gone. Perhaps one day these things will change, but for now it truly sucks. Its the p@#$ poor attitudes about who's dick is bigger thats the real problem. Grow up, try to work on better contracts and do your freaking job! Don't be a prick and try to be friendly with your brothers and sisters at other regionals. You never know when you just might share the cockpit with them down the road. Okay rant over...

Quick reality check for everyone here:

Piedmont is indeed stagnant... like an old drainage pod.

BUT... In this economy, stagnation is GOOD. If you can hang onto your job through this horrible mess you are in good shape. Upgrade times, the type of airplane you fly and whether or not chicks dig beta (they do, btw) matters not. Only having a job. There are a lot of folks hitting the street and more to follow. Will you? Never ever get comfy. Anything can happen.

For now, fly professionally, be humble, save some gas if you can and build up the savings account emergency fund. Treat everyone with respect, because you never know where you might have to apply for a job next.

I remember a certian Mesa CA just after 9-11 telling me how their growth would never end. I told him he was nuts... Every airline will end up having a rough time at some point. Every one except SWA (...yet) has. Turns out for once I was right.

A few weeks ago, a nice lady who is a REP CA told me almost the same thing: "We are going to grow for a long time, we are immune to the economy." Anyone want to place any bets that she is right?

LOL, yea kinda like calling a retarded kick for double dribble in basketball............. Sometimes you just gotta let it slide!

So in conclusion, until you are flying the airplane and it does not have the "express" next to it. You are all working for a regional. Regionals all suck and your flying could be gone tomorrow as the name before the express on your plane goes so does your flying.....

So to sum it up, PDT/PSA/RAH/AWAC/ASA/Comair/Compass/etc etc etc they are all regionals. Work rules suck and they all suck. Wait until you get to a major then you will see what decent work rules are like. But even then they are not what they use to be. Thus many would tell you they suck still!

Did I miss anything? regionals suck almost as mesa sucks? (figured that might be a good comparison for the mesa haters out there as well)

Good deal. I guess its all in what the individual wants from their job. PDT fits me fine at the moment.

Apparently, she forgot about the F9 bankruptcy and RAH's contract loss and 17 E170s being parked. Arrogancy can affect everyone. That's too bad.

BTW I'll be more than happy to put my W2 against your any day I still make for as a PDT CA that you do as a RPA CA. Flying half the seat...

What is it with you and your phallic W2 obsession? I could care less about your W2.

Your history is skewed and you're blaming the wrong people.
