sorry im not this Duhangelo person you are refering to. I saw some of his posts. He had interesting ideas but thats about it. I looked over some of his old posts. He definately had some good points and some bad points. His call for the union to develop a new vision had some interesting points. I am not D'Angelo however. Just a pilot who is saying NO MORE. I've had it with union abuse and management abuse.

My question for you is this. Why does it always have to fall on some other pilot group to "raise the bar". If people vote in a deal they think is fair and just they just raised the bar for themselves. You have to take care of yourself and your pilot group first, worry about the rest of the industry later

Taking care of yourself first is a basic human instinct -- no real thinking involved. Accepting short-term sacrifice for long-term gain takes some soul-searching, but then I'm sure I've already lost you.

The problem with "raising the bar" is that the definition is too subjective. Who decides where it gets to set. Why does everyone always have to try to outdo each other as far as contracts go? Why is having a contract in the middle such a bad thing? If the pilot group is satisfied with the contract they have then why the animosity? If they get a deal they think is fair and good they just raised the bar for themselves. Last time I read the union rulebook it made no mention of it being our job to try and raise the bar for everyone else, just for ourselves.

Yes but if PSA pilots decide that its best for the short term and the long term then they just raised the bar. If they vote no then they will either try to get the planes again or they will go to someone else. Unfortunately cost is everything in this cruel world

Rather than thinking for yourself, you've accepted management's (false) premise. Cost *is not* everything. Particularly not pilot costs. Management would like us to believe that, and in your case (God forbid, Mr. future MEC member), they've succeeded.

Labor costs are one of the higher costs in running an airline. It used to be one of if not the highest when economic times are better. Just as a perspective lets say you give everyone a $10/hr raise. Now times that by 85 hrs a month for an average. Times that by 12 for a whole year. Then you times that by say 1500 pilots that is a bit over $15 million dollars. That most certainly isn't something to sneeze at. $15 million dollars can still go a long way even in the airline buisness. To think pilot pay makes no difference is foolish. You need someone like me in the MEC. I can bring a whole new vision and strategy to the table. Maybe then our dues would be worth something again

I fly for Comair. Though I may sound similar to this D'Angelo gent I do not know him nor affiliate with him. Maybe ill see him one day and we can have a nice long chat about what we agree and disagree with. Don't let the avatar fool you. I simply like R&B music thats about all we have in common.

Yes that is a worthless demand. Now how about something that benefits the pilot group.
 
A lot of people are telling this pilot group to take a stand, but would any other pilot group back us, and not take the flying if it was offered to them at the same rates. I doubt it
