Pilots wearing backpacks??? lets get campy?

I have a backpack when I am gone for more than a 4 day trip.. I think it shows the trend of the airline industry when pilots are having to be gone from home more and have less commutable schedules... Maybe the airlines could get better at making more attractive schedules! Then there would be less backpacks

I have a seen what appear to be a few new hires at comair wearing backpacks.
This while in uniform and on the job. Both Pilots were female if that makes any difference? IMO, this is very unprofessional and certainly looks cheezy. Do any other regional airlines allow this? I am sure no majors allow this as part of the "standard" uniform. What's the consensus here? Is it ok to "get campy?" I'm ready to puke. HS

You sure that they weren't Gulfstream Academy "First Officer Trainees" going to class in the 1900 or the 120?

They usually go good with the "thick sole" Doc Marten's. Complete CFI get-up. Whenever my wife gets home from a no-rev trip she usually comments on how sloppy some of the crews were dressed, I guess I've just grown used to it.

My wife says the same. She's silver medalion on Delta now and travels quite frequently on Comair and ASA.

She is absolutely amazed by the appearance of the flight crews. Seems nobody takes pride in their uniform anymore.

I carry around a back pack, I have been at Comedy air for 6 years.

I have to carry all the books for three online classes I am taking to get hired anywhere.

this thread may go to 4 year degrees...

I carry food in there too, burritos, wraps, tuna, crackers, all the survival stuff.

I'm using the falling apart backpack that I used in 4th grade. It fits under the seats of cattle class, doesn't contain any TSA heart-failure items, and looks like something the cat dragged in so it doesn't get stolen.

i put all my drugs, rubbers and booze in my backpack. See the chick in the avatar? I live to make her happy, and that involves heavy drugs, booze and rubbers, and they won't fit in my official krew luggage.

Well, actually they probably are. But you get the point. If I were making 19K a year, I would give a rat's ass what I looked like, too.

If you are retiring in a week you need to forget about those backpacks, in fact forget everything about this damn industry, start worrying about whether you're going to put that 41" Plasma HDTV in the Main Berth or Saloon of your new Boat and also if you are going to stock 5 or 10 year old Scotch in the liquor well and also how many 20'-something bikini clad ladies will fit in the helm at once...Priorities man! Priorities!!!

At least at CMR they have the CP uniform and hat nazi that even barks at mainline guys..
