I guess you could lump them into 3 categories then:

NWA's 60+ 747's/330s with DAL's 10 777s.

75/76 Class aircraft (large NB/tiny old WB)

737/A320/DC-9/MD-80

Combine those groupings with a dynamic list to consider respective retirements and you're getting closer. Without dynamic, this would be a huge windfall for the DAL side as DAL has very little premium widebody flying as they only have 10 777s-that's it!

When arguing aircraft capacity, the only thing that should matter is the number of seats an aircraft is certified to carry. Anything less than that is a marketing choice and does not reflect to capabilities of the aircraft. This is the same argument that got both our groups to foolishly vote to allow a 90 seat jet on property (CRJ-900 and E-175) under the guise of 76 seats.

Keep arguing based on the number of seats management puts in the aircraft and you will lead us down the path of the Midwest pilots, where management wants to adjust pay based on fewer seats.

Excuse the ignorance, but what is a "dynamic seniority list"? Does the seniority list get reordered every year, month, day, or retirement? How does that work and is there one in play somewhere else in the industry? Thanks

They are, but I am sure that ours would be omitted in your plan. Furthermore, it is just way to complicated, and would be screwed up.
With Medical outs, etc it would make life a mess.

Of coarse. Anything close to dalpas proposal is a win for the premerger dal. pilots. You get to not only keep your posistion(which I agree you should)but benefit in upward movement created by the old farts we bring. You know at some point dals intl expansion will stop and with no significant retirements from your side for the next 8-10 years there will be very little movement nearterm. Good news is the sli won't be decided by anyone on this forum. FWIW, our latest update from flight ops mentioned that the first 12 787s will be 800s and next 6 900s plus the 50 options. That is the first mention of 900s I have seen.

What, am I delinquent on some basic pilot knowledge? I am not imersed in this subject and don't have time to read the proposals, figured that's what the arbitrators are getting paid good money to do, but what does NWA's "dynamic seniority" entail? If they truly end up with the top 400 spots, does everytime a NWA pilot retire, they hand their old seniority to the next in line so in essence NWA holds the top 400 spots for the next 35 years? I am truly unaware of the dynamic seniority list concept, does anyone else use this? Thanks

The jist of a dynamic list is that each side moves up as their retirements happen. I personally don't like the idea. Ultimately, NWA pilots should be given a credit for our up coming retirements or the Delta pilots should not be given much credit for their current positions which is a reflection of their retirements. In my humble opinion its a wash but you will never get a Delta pilot to agree. They got their retirements, want credit for their current positions(which is a result of their retirements) and then want our retirements. Pure BS.

In a few posts, a delta pilot will mention that their future retirements will eclipse ours. The only problem with that is its 15 to 20 years away.
