Just had mine. Supposed to know if I go onto the next phase in 4 weeks. Got my fingers crossed.

just had it this week, with rachel and the questions were very similar to everything on here already.

I had a phone interview about 2 weeks ago. I waited 10 days from putting in my resume to getting the phone interview. Great internal recomendations helped move things along quickly I believe. All the questions were the same as what has been posted previously. 2 days ago I got a letter from NJA. Short version of it said the typical thank you, your great yada yada. Then said that all classes were currently full until the start of next year so thank you for your time, and please apply again in 6 months. Personal Specs.
Phone interview went well, I live in CMH, Captain at a regional, Exceeded all there minimum times by a lot.
So who knows. I wish all the luck to the rest of you. Hope it works out better for you than it did me. I'll be trying again in 6 months.

Don't feel to bad. All I got was an e-mail saying thanks but no thanks. It was very polite and all, but came as a huge shock. I would have thought I'd at least get to the phone interview.

I think they are constantly refining the process of accepting applications and selecting for interviews ( phone and face to face). Which makes sense due to the large influx of interest since December and other changes in the Recruiting Dept. I am sure it will change and change again within the next 12 + months.

....just a guess..I am also a recent ( within a month or so ) re-apply.I have done as much research and initial contacts as I can without being a pest.

Now, I am just sitting back, doing my best to relax and letting them do their thing. It will work out or it wont.

Good luck to all!

Cheers!

Hey Lucky,

When did you get this email? After an initial application submission? Just curious....if you want to share its cool....if not , also cool. Sorry to hear it didnt work out.

Thanks

I received it this morning and yes it was after the initial application. I understand that there are a lot of changes going on and that things take time. I know guys who waited nearly a year to get a class date. So I didn't expect much to happen quickly. Receiving the e-mail was honestly a shock! Who knows...maybe I used the wrong color ink for that day.

There was no mention of a time line to reapply or if I even could. Think it would be alright to apply again right away?

Honestly, I dont know the answer to that question.

I would guess 6 months and try again, however its hard to tell. This type of email sounds new, I think they used to send out letters saying ' no thanks ' .

It would be a shock to me too. Sorry to hear it.

I am waiting on a re-apply and am ready for whatever the response may be.

I know this may not make you feel better, but at least they told you.....I too would rather get a phone or interview invite, but I would also rather know if they were finished with me altogether....and just move on.

But I dont think its over for you...maybe 6 months at the least.

Don't feel so bad,

I was turned down before I even got a phone interview. Internal LOR, way over the mins, probably because they think I will go back to my legacy after being furloughed for a second time, NOT. I can always reapply I suppose.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. I currently fly the 757 for 121 outfit. It's not a main line gig like most airlines. We actually have high end contracts. So maybe it's a 121 or big airplane kind of thing.

I'll apply again and again, sooner or later they'll let me in the door.

Hey Guys...Sorry to hear the bad news. I don't know if it's the 121 gig or not, however as you can see I have a 121 gig with 3 different boeing types and I interviewed (phone) and have been waiting for about 5 weeks now and still no word good or bad. So there is still hope, no news is good news I guess. Best of luck.

I did the phone interview yesterday with kelley. Most questions were already posted. The only one that wasn't was "How would you describe your leadership style?"

I got the email for phone interview aprox 3 weeks after submitting my app. No internal Recs, just over the mins as far as Total Pilot. I have 1300 as a military FE so I don't know if that helped or not. Current 121 Regianl FO.

She told me 4-5 Weeks before I know anything. I am hopin and a prayin for some good news.

Does anyone know how the recruiters make the decision on whether or not you make it through the phone interview? Do they write down everything you say and discuss it later or does the person you talk with make the decision immediately after you hang up?

Just wondering why some people get the rejection letter after one week while others get it after two or three weeks. I’m trying to figure out if they take some time and consider what you said or if they know right away that you are not going to make it.

They obviously don't want furloughed or soon to be furloughed 121 guys. I got the same "thanks but no" response before any phone interview. Over 9000 hours, 7000 jet of which 3000 is in citations and lears. Pretty hard to convince someone you have no plans on going back to the airlines when they don't even give you a chance.

Very true Saabslime. I guess they were burned by some guys who were recalled. The part they are not seeing, at least for the moment, is they have some very good employees who resigned from a major to stay at Netjets.

That could have been me, but I will keep applying til they let me in.

I'm not saying this is the case, but the "turn left" mentality does not work at NetJets. It doesn't matter if you have 2500 hours, or 31,000 hours. You MUST be a great pilot, and you MUST be superb at customer service. Just because you have a lot of time doesn't mean you are the pilot NetJets is looking for.

Giving a PA when there is a weather delay is not superb customer service by the way. If you are wondering what superb C.S. is, look at Ritz Carlton. Get the idea?

Flying is 20% of what we do.

Does the Ritz teach sitting down in the FBO while the owners walk through the front door asking different pilots if they are flying them to PBI? We have all frequently seen this.
It's called adapt and overcome. Many great customer service oriented 121 pilots have been turned down by nejets and many current netjets pilots should have never been hired after furloughed from 121.
If the pilots are happy (via pay and QOL), their owners are happy. It's typically the non-121 background guys who claim that airline folks can't adapt from "turning left." Why is it that every retired 121 guy is great at customer service?
Long story short, I would bet that many current nja pilots, if they had to interview today, would not pass the phone interview. There's no rhyme or reason as to the selection process. Why not have the pilot union be in charge of the selction of its pilots? Management hires the back office and pilots select the pilots.

Saabslime seems to have a little attitude since he got turned down. I don't believe the 121 time is a negative at all. In fact, I believe they would look at it as great experience in a proven training environment. Why do I say this, because as a soon to be twice furloughed 121 pilot I have a phone interview coming up. Will I make it to be a NetJets pilot? I don't know, but I will certainly try my best. Saabslime obviously has it wrong, because if his theory was correct, I wouldn't have gotten the phone interview. I apparently fit all his criteria to not get a phone interview and I got one. Oh yah, I didn't have an internal recommendation either. I don't believe anyone here can possibly understand why some get an interview and others do not.

So Fischman,

How does Netjets know from my application, without even speaking to me, that I am not capable of such customer service heights?

This is a bit of a rhetorical question, just to stir it up.

Apparently Fischman is in a pilot category that all others can only dream of obtaining. Talking to a couple NetJets pilots recently, they seem to have a completely different attitude than this Fischman. Those that know they are good pilots and good at customer service are the ones that don't need to preach to others. It seems your attitude/arrogance towards others would be a quality NetJets would not want to have. OH yah I almost forgot, airlines don't hire guys that can give good PA's, they also want a solid pilot with good customer service skills, exactly what NetJets wants. What an ignorant comment.

This might sound like a silly question but how do you find your passengers at a busy FBO? Do you stand near the entrance and ask everyone who comes in if they are your passenger?
