Sorry to hear the way you were communicated with, MT2. The pilots have voiced their displeasure about what has been happening with the interview process.

With regards to one of those who think that NetJets pilots are overpaid compared to the NBAA figures, you must remember one very important fact.

Typically, NetJets gets twice the crew usage out of a pilot than what most charter to normal corporate companies get out of their pilots. I know many pilots for charter companies who sit at HOME on standby and may only fly 6 days a month with very few overnights. However, a XL or X pilot with NetJets will be away from home at least 14 days and up to as many as 18 days. You can bet that he/she will be flying and earning money for the company almost all of those days.

Therefore, you may say that an XL pilot at NetJets is overpaid, however, he is flying and traveling substantially more than the same XL pilot at most corporate jobs. The NBAA takes all pilots income from all jobs and comes up with an average, it says nothing about crew usage for the amount of money being earned.

I e-mailed the Talent Acquisition department last Friday to check on my status. The e-mailed me back today, basically thanking me for taking the time to do the phone interview in July. The apologized for the amount of time it's taken thus far. They said they hope to have communication out to me shortly.

It's not a "no".

I did my phone interview August 1st, got an email saying "no thanks" almost four weeks later... if you haven't heard anything, I hope (and think) you're still in business. I just wouldn't count on working there until mid 2009.

I applied a couple months ago and didn't interview. Got an email today saying I'm not qualified. I guess NetJet doesn't like furloughed airline guys with over 5500 hrs and 4 type ratings. So it looks like the NetJet hiring dept is still running.

Nothing personal Cornelius, just using your post as an example.

You are right. Your 5500 hours and 4 type ratings means nothing. You, or someone with 20,000 hours and 20 type ratings, gets no more attention then someone with the mins.

An applicant has got to stand out as customer service oriented. In your case you would have needed something impressive to show that you have more then 5500 hours experience of walking in and turning left. Again, nothing personal. I just read a lot of "airline mentality" posts where people are confused as to why XXXX hours and X type ratings didn't get them a job. We aren't an airline and applicants need to understand that and start thinking as such.

I wish you luck. I suggest to all that an email to Kathy, aka "Resume Writer" on the other forum (opray ilotpay orldway) would be time and money well spent.

Its just frustrating to us airline guys that NetJet sends out rejection emails before you even interview. I've talked to a few of my colleagues who have gotten the same email, 1 even had 6 NetJet pilot LORs.

I do understand your point DAS, its highly competive out there, and there are 1,000s of other guys out there with my same time and experience.

I think NetJets is the first company who "gets it" about flight time. Having 10,000 hours doesn't necessarily make anyone a good pilot. I have learned this from flying with some 10,000-hour pilots. Not only were some of them horrible with customers, it surprised me that some of them hadn't balled up an airplane in that many hours.

But of course, there are great 5,000 hour pilots, who might be excellent candidates for Netjets, and it's a shame that they are seemingly ignoring a lot of airline guy apps. DAS/250 is right... focus on something other than your flight time that shows you to be an excellent customer-service-drive employee.

And this all from a guy who does exactly what Netjets does who got told to shove off. I didn't focus enough on the "elite customer service" question.
