Serious answer from current CS guys please. I'm in the upper third of the seniority list at CHQ and seriously thinking of a transition (4 years of airline flying is really burning me out with incompetent management, outright abuse and negligence of passengers and employees, rotting days away in PHL, ROC, etc.) I'm a divorced father active in my son's life so NJ isn't an option with the current base structure. Former freight dog who misses variety, and not afraid to smile, say "sir", load luggage etc.
Questions: what are costs of medical insurance for employee +1? Do you have many pilots who have made the RJ to CS transition? How competitive is 5000tt with 1300 121 PIC and 2 years of college (no bachelor's yet)? Are you able to specify your base? Based on APC my pay cut would be about 35 percent gross; how much per-diem do you typically use on the road? Opportunities for OT/extra flying? Thanks in advance.
blueridge; said:Two good things at CS are :
1. Quick upgrade - 18 mos to 2 yrs.
2. Large number of bases
Additionally, I have never been treated better by any company that I've worked for.
Liar!!!!!!!
Liar!!!!!!!
I don't think I'd totally write NJ off. It seems to me a 7/7 schedule would be somewhat commuteable-
I came from the regionals and CS is, without a doubt, better than the regionals I worked for. Even the non-aviation companies that I've worked for havn't treated me as well.
Your experience may have been different.
The problem with your statement is you are not willing to tell the truth on this board. Thats OK neither am I. But at least be a man about it and admit it.
Why is that?
Hey, when you eventually get to FEDEX or SWA can you tell us the truth then?![]()
If you want free crew meals, go with NutJets. If you want a better quality of life, go with CitationShares. BTW, you WILL have to pay the useless union dues if you go with NJ, not a wise investment at all. Just my 2 cents.
