Serious answer from current CS guys please. I'm in the upper third of the seniority list at CHQ and seriously thinking of a transition (4 years of airline flying is really burning me out with incompetent management, outright abuse and negligence of passengers and employees, rotting days away in PHL, ROC, etc.) I'm a divorced father active in my son's life so NJ isn't an option with the current base structure. Former freight dog who misses variety, and not afraid to smile, say "sir", load luggage etc.

I don't think I'd totally write NJ off. It seems to me a 7/7 schedule would be somewhat commuteable--of course depending on where you live. Plus, you can be flown home to whatever city you want (you pay the extra, if any) on your last day. Therefore, commuting NJ could come down to two one-way airline tickets (perhaps < $100 each) and two hotel rooms a month (?@$400?). Not the greatest deal, but still just a cost to be figured into the budget.

The Reserve NJ schedule, however, is not easily commuteable.

Questions: what are costs of medical insurance for employee +1? Do you have many pilots who have made the RJ to CS transition? How competitive is 5000tt with 1300 121 PIC and 2 years of college (no bachelor's yet)? Are you able to specify your base? Based on APC my pay cut would be about 35 percent gross; how much per-diem do you typically use on the road? Opportunities for OT/extra flying? Thanks in advance.

check your PMs.

From what I know... I would be happy at CS. A good company. I believe that I am better off to be where I am though.

NJ is building a Global Network that nobody else can build.... At least NONE of the other existing players. In this endeaver... our competition is NOBODY. "Nobody is going to catch us."

The issues of pay and quality of life for pilots has been resolved in our favor thanks to a Strong Union. Looking at posts from yrs back is good Historical information ... but that ship has sailed... No one is going to catch us now.

I came from the regionals and CS is, without a doubt, better than the regionals I worked for. Even the non-aviation companies that I've worked for havn't treated me as well.

Your experience may have been different.

The problem with your statement is you are not willing to tell the truth on this board. Thats OK neither am I. But at least be a man about it and admit it. Experience my rear, you can't possibly tell me that what we have been going thru and the lack of a response from mgt. is beeing treated well. I tell you what. you saty here, you enjoy kissing a$$ and come talk to me in about 2 years.

Both companies are good. NJ is a more mature company, so they have a few extra perks. I'm on my fourth year with CS and love the flying. Management is still experimenting with different ideas to make the company more efficient. They take our input very seriously and if we don't like something, it usually gets changed with time. As for the future, I can't wait to see where we are in 10 years. No company is perfect, but I truly can say I'm happy with CS and like some people on here think I'm not afraid to speak the truth on FlightInfo.
Most people would be happy with either choice. If you want a more mature company go with NJ. If you want to get in on ground level and upgrade fast go to CS. Good luck!

If you want free crew meals, go with NutJets. If you want a better quality of life, go with CitationShares. BTW, you WILL have to pay the useless union dues if you go with NJ, not a wise investment at all. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah they are useless until you start comparing W2's then you understand why you pay those union dues.
