your right dad,

I know of a few people who have phone interviews or requests to schedule one.....there may be a back up in training/ sim slots.....but there is not a stop or slow due to economy/ fuel......still waiting lists and people wanting to be NJA owners.

I flew some kids to summer camp recently....i'd imagine mom and dad would fly them commercailly if they were pinching pennies....

People with larger amounts of money weather economic slowdowns drasticly different then airline passengers.....simple fact.

The hiring continues! :)
I was just scheduled for a phone interview in August (the Recruiting Team's first available month for me). One internal LOR and App Accepted in April means to me that things are still moving ahead, albeit slowly for all the reasons stated on this thread.
Looking forward to the phone call.......

I was in CMH last week and spoke with several people in mangement and here is what they said, take this info or leave it, but this is straight from the people that actually may know what they are talking about.

There will be more hired this year, the number is between 100-75. Actually the number 75 came up twice, but that is just an observation. They are on pace to fill the hiring quota for this year and they don't have the sim slots to go over that. One person spoke of a hiring pool, but that was just in the abstract.

Good luck to those that apply.

whoever relayed that to APC gave them incorrect info.....still hiring.

This thread should read:

"NetJets wants to hire hundreds more but Flight Safety doesn't have the simulators to support them. NetJets to build new training facility in Columbus with 26 full motion sims so that they can motor up to 5,000 pilots by 2015."

But that won't fit.

Seriously, Classes are full up till 2009. New interviews to resume in September 2008 for the 2009 class schedule.

Good luck to all.

Yeah, because management always tells the truth. LOL...

So smart guy, why would NJA mangement lie about something like pilot hiring??? Out of all the things that they have lied to us about in the past, hiring wasn't one of them.

Two of the senior mangement team told me what I posted above and I have no reason to doubt them.

LoL! Are you kidding? That's a good one, every once in a while I get a chuckle off this board. Thnx!

It actually is true - no newspapers are to be read in the cockpit, regardless of whether or not passengers are onboard or not.

Eyes forward and monitor fuel every 30 minutes...

i guess they should have got their stuff in instead of bitchin about the low pay back in '03.....lol

i feel bad for new hires right now....probly gonna be 7+ years for an upgrade. But at least the pay is better.

So much goes on behind the Flight Deck door in the 121 world... Ipods, Laptops, books, newspapers, bleh bleh bleh

brokeflyer,

i know you fly the space shuttle and everything but from one nja guy to another maybe a little modesty is in order. nja's a great company with a great reputation let's try to keep it that way.

I agree with brokeflyer. The stats I saw at recurrent last month shows growth but the slow down is sim slots and airplanes that have not been built yet. Dont forget, NJA is building a NJA campus at CMH. It will be the biggest flightsafty facility in the world. Dont let the hiring slow down fool you! I was told up to 400 pilots for next year!
However, they said they will interview in august then interview from September on for the 09 year.

lol thats funny...

to educate you, it is because we can't have guys sitting around for 5 months waiting on a sim. More sims = more hiriing.

we have planes sitting with no crews because they can't get them trained fast enough.

OK here's the real scoop. Overheard it in CMH when I was walking down the hall.
DayJet is planning a massive comeback and we need to be lean and mean to keep up.

This campus will house and IMMEDIATE 25 sims expandable to ???

I believe that it's existence is KEY to rapid growth beyond 3,000 NJA pilots. JMHO.

What that means to me is that if you want to work for NJA, sure... hiring will continue over the next 3-4 years at a slow pace. But after that center is built, growth will be much quicker.
