If you consider flame baiting the truth, then I'm sorry. Whether or not you layover in Tehran isn't a big deal, it's that you have to go there, and these days that's not preferable. Neither is half of the crappy places around there, none of which really like Americans or the Govt.

You were a 777 at 32, huh? Impressive, but many questions arise reading that. There is a normal sequence of events that happen in the US to attain a position like that, which we all understand doesn't occur in other places around the World. That can be good and bad, like the recent crash in SFO. Attaining a position isn't always because you deserve it. Hopefully you did.

And, many back here in the States are like me, fun, entertaining, and likes to ask questions. I hear that is frowned upon over where you are. If so, and you agree, stay there.

As I said in my previous post, I earned my seat. It is no secret that upgrades here do not work entirely on seniority. There is a vetting process and a rigorous set of hoops to jump through. We all have thousands and thousands of hours on heavy equipment when we get the call for command. Please do not imply that I'm unfit for my seat. The retired British Airways 744 skipper who did my final check didn't think so.

As for flight deck behavior... GL, you are welcome to conduct yourself as you please in my flight deck. No issues on my end. In fact, I'll let you throw gear for me anytime.

Try not to take this so personally. This is FI. I hope all 777 Capts flying around the World are qualified, but you and I know that sometimes that isn't the case. As you stated, seniority and experience don't always equal an upgrade, and some crashes as of late show that. I'm glad you earned your seat. When and if you come to the States after finally tiring of the Sandpit (like TP eventually did), and you pass the interview process, you can throw gear for me. I have a 17 year start at the best airline in the World. (And sorry, no DECs here)

NEVER furloughed its pilots

NEVER displaced Captains to FOs due to contraction

NEVER issued a monetary pay cut

...and FINALLY... welcomed furloughed DAL/NWA guys thrown onto the street
....with open arms.

I'm happy you work for the best....17 years in the RHS has certainly given you ONE point of view.

What is your opinion of DECs (out of seniority)? How about not getting to bid EXACTLY what you should hold seniority wise for trips? How about surrendering your passports (maybe for family??) when in DXB? (You can verify that one) how about no control over profit sharing? How about having to ask your boss to get married to a co-worker (another Gulf Carrier)? How about bidding another plane--cross fleet (can you proactively bid?).

Btw, my 16 years in the RHS (1 year sideways as an FE) has been by choice. I could have been a narrowbody Capt years ago, but I enjoy my QOL right now, and want to bid LHS on something I want to fly. I certainly would stay RHS rather than go to the ME. Looks like TP would have started over on a 717 rather than stay at EK. Read his quote below, I placed it there for you.....
