You know I may be wrong, but wasn't US Air largely responsible the the current ALPA Merger policy?? If so, your statement seems rather disingenuous.

Hi D.S,
I do not think so. Hope you are doing fine. Good to see you post again.

Marty

Alpa used to have it and it turns out it is will be something they will have to revisit. It does not work. Every merger I have gone through has been DOH. [Trump pilots wanted Eastern date of hire but they quit Eastern and they got something better then their DOH at Trump.]
Every other Union uses DOH, just ALPA decided to change something and it blew up in their face.

Marty

You would think that you would learn from your mistakes. You morons spent $3 million trying to staple the Trump pilots to the bottom of your list.

Never mind, I forgot that you don't even work for US Airways.

How come you didn't say "remains effective" today? :D

Because it's "in effect", but not "effective". "Career expectations with no windfalls" is too subjective, open to too much interpretation. DOH with fences is tighter language, less ambiguous.

Too bad the list is in and accepted! Better luck with your goals and judgement in the next arbitration, sound like ex-jocks talking about glory days in the past!

DOH is one thing when two groups of actively working pilots with similar demographics come together. It's quite another when one group has over a third of their pilots furloughed and those furloughed pilots don't bring a job to the table.

Not in the mind of Eastholes. The 7 days they spent in indoc buys them an eternity of entitlement and prosperity despite reality, economics, and basic unionism..even if it crushes another pilot group. This will define their failure and be a small chapter in the next installment of "flying the line" It will be under chapter 1..."fake unionism and impotence...a case study"

Well, looks like with all the furloughs coming out West, the Nic award would put furloughed West pilots ahead of working East pilots. Kind of ironic how things change.

Marty

ALPA or USAPA. Does not matter. As long as the EAST out numbers WEST you can kiss your Nic award good bye. The award is a windfall and so one sided it will never work. West pilots will remain in their bases and enjoy what they brought to the table.

How about the Nic award applies to West bases and DOH to bases where real USAIR pilots work.

Relative seniority. What a joke. Only pilots could come up with this.
Can not wait til United pilots realize what their relative seniority would get them at CAL if they merge and have no fences and protections.

DOH is not a staple. We wanted DOH and protections to the flying Trump pilots had. Trump pilots got better then DOH.

You are correct, this UAL pilot is all about DOH no matter who we might merge with down the road. The rest is subjective BS.

Only thing is, the west pilots are NOT enjoying what we brought to the table, because the company has moved the flying out east where you idiots do the flying cheaper. Classic whipsaw tactics, and you played right into their hands with the USAPA drive.

How about the Nic award applies to West bases and DOH to bases where real USAIR pilots work.

Oh please, enlighten me on what it takes to be a REAL US pilot. Does that mean we have to have a crappy safety record and drive our company financially into the ground?

Yeah, right. Last time I checked, George Nicolau was not a pilot, just a fair and impartial third party who had previously handed down awards that the US pilots liked.

Marty, the fact is, you guys brought 450 airplanes worth of pilots with you to this deal, but only 275 +/- aircraft. DOH is a huge windfall for the former US furloughees. We knew it, Nicolau knew it, and the rest of the industry (at least those who give it a nanosecond of critical thought) knows it. Enjoy your tyranny of the majority while it lasts.

The windfall furloughees got, was do to the enormous attrition we had until age 65. We are down to min. fleet. The Furloughees are filling seats that were left by former USAIR pilots. East pilots are defending their positions and their former furloughees.

I wonder why no one out West wants fences? Because West pilots want access to our jobs. Good luck with all the furloughs coming West. It will not come close to what this pilot group has gone through. At least West pilots are still making the best pay they ever had.

So how much subjectivity is just right?

This is what's so fun about arguing integration methods with guys like you: you care more about expediency than fairness and you're not ashamed to admit it. Furthermore, you show a lack of integrity by cheering on the East as they end-run around binding arbitration.

Other work groups at airlines used to look to the pilots for leadership. Now they know better.

Well Dude,
being a 2005 hire at AWA you want to be slotted in with 1988 hires in the East. These East pilots are block holders and 100 hundreds of pilots below them. In your situation I would want the Nic award to.

good luck

M
