I'm glad USAPA and the East Coast pilots have a plan to prevent their 3% (125) East Coast furloughs. And I'm sure USAPA is hard at work developing a plan to prevent the 10% (175) furloughs on the West Coast as well, right? Not.

How in the world will the East pilots be able to justify the retention of new hires and the elimination of West mainline pilots?

Another clear violation of the Transition Agreement.

How wonderful for your guys …

Make Seniority Date of Hire Period!

Well, how is your seniority determined at AWA if it ain't DOH?

Where in ALPA merger policy does it mention DOH?

(you were ALPA when the merger happened, no?)

DOH (with fences) is no longer ALPA SLI policy. It was the policy up until the 2000 USAir/UAL merger proposal. It was changed by ALPA National to a slotting method based on "career expectations" in order to address the UAL MEC's SLI concerns at that time. It remains in effect today.

Alpa used to have it and it turns out it is will be something they will have to revisit. It does not work. Every merger I have gone through has been DOH. [Trump pilots wanted Eastern date of hire but they quit Eastern and they got something better then their DOH at Trump.]
Every other Union uses DOH, just ALPA decided to change something and it blew up in their face.

Well, that is NOT correct.

Don't mean to get into Your 'family fight' but just want to correct a common misconception. ALPA merger policy was changed in 1991; all of the conditions, "career expections, minimize windfalls, etc." all of that was in merger policy prior to the change. The only change was to remove the words to the effect; "integration will be determined by Date of Hire." And, the belief at the time was DALPA pressured the change; as roughly one month after the change was made, DAL announced that they were purchasing the North Atl. routes from Pan Am. And, had those words not been removed, the entire top of the DAL pilot list would have been Pan Am.

It was changed long, long before the first UAL/US Air merger was even a thought. Look up the history and you be the judge.

For what its worth.

How come you didn't say "remains effective" today? :D

You know I may be wrong, but wasn't US Air largely responsible the the current ALPA Merger policy?? If so, your statement seems rather disingenuous.
