Looking at NJA's website I don't see anything about a 2 or 4 year degree. Is anyone getting hired without a degree? Does living in one of the 5 gateway cities help? Thanks-

Of the guys I fly with at NJA I would say around a little over a half have a degree.

And exactly what kind of degree do you need to fly a plane????? I have 2 myself....so what?????? Neither one deal with aviation.

And before I got hired by NetJets I was flipping omelettes and making burgers while tutouring physics and chemistry on the weekends.

I guess I can't understand how all those fancy flight school market themselves. You go there for 4 years and graduate with a piece of paper that means next to nothing if you don't have a first class medical.

Yes recency is a "thanks but no thanks" You HAVE to be current and flying. I was in CMH last week and went over to ask about a buddy also. He had not flown in 16 months. He has over 10K in time but is not flying. So no dice on the interview.

Well my friend got the app in the mail yesterday. I was surprised they sent him one, maybe the recency isn't as big a deal as we thought? I wonder how liberal they are with sending out the apps? Early last year if you got them to send you an app then the job was yours to lose at that point. But I wonder if that's still the case? Looking at Nixon's chart I see lots who've gotten the "waitmail".

Anyone in the know as to when the next round of emails for an interview with Netjets may occur???
As of a couple of weeks ago they were only planning one interview date in March and then holding off until April to continue. Backed up in the training pipeline and didn't want to make people wait too long for a class.

Still want to hire a bunch this year and next year though. Training capacity is the constraint right now.

Thanks for the info : )

Hey Gang,

Looks like they are bit backed up. I interviewed on the 14th of Feb but have yet to hear anything official.

Can anybody answer this question for me? If I haven't received an e-mail confirming they have my application should I be concerned? I sent it on the 21 of Feb. Thanks

I can't tell you if you should be concerned or not, but I will tell you that 17 days elapsed between when my application was received (tracked by FedEx), and when I got the e-mail saying my application met the requirements and I was in line for an interview.

By that schedule, you have another 8 days before you need to be concerned. :D

After that, the real wait begins. Been a month and a day since I got the "we'll call you for an interview" email. This is sure a lesson in patience.

Whoa, that is a test of patience. Anybody else in the same boat with Skyking? Thanks for the info Sky. They got my application a week ago, time to be patient.

FWIW, anything good is worth waiting for!

Good Luck!

Yup, lots of us in the same boat. I don't think anyone's been called for an interview since the last update of the grid, so some of us have been a little over a month since the application. I'm ready! :D

Got the call for class....Patience...May 15th.
I got the XL...No choices for me (plane or date) if I wanted my first choice in base (DAL).

Congrats!

Did they mention how many bases were available to you, or didn't you care once you knew you could have your first choice? Was the plane somehow tied to the base?

First of all, congratulations and welcome!

I was curious about your statment about "no choice". Are they telling interviewees that certain domiciles are now filled up for certain fleets? There has been some suggestion that NJA is now limiting the domiciles to only 3 choices and that this is done even before the person interviews.

Just curious what your experience was and again, welcome aboard.

Sounded that way.

I just care about DAL, the others would have been (probably) a deal breaker.
But DAL and TEB don't seem too good for future hired.

what your experience was and again, welcome aboard

Thanks,
I fly right seat on a part 91 Falcon 20.
4000h TT / 500 jet.

Can't wait to start :D
