Barger will be under a lot of pressure to improve the bottom line, with DN gone DB will be able to do what would have been unthinkable to DN...I predict that Barger will activate those credit card slots next to the TV screens and start charging for the in flight entertainment.

B6 pilots enjoy some pretty sweet duty rigs, I'm sure Chew is looking into those...despite the recent pay increases I believe that changes are still ahead to the pilots working agreement.

What? Sweet duty rigs?

If you call a 3 day 11:38 (from Opentime, for example) sweet, you have issues.

Charging for TVs? Never. Charging for WiFi? Probably.

Duty Rigs? We don't have a Duty Rig.

We have crappy 4/1 Trip Rig and a a$$ poor daily guarantee that only applies to single day pairing. Other than that we get paid for what we fly. Nothing more. Unless of course you are counting the premium pay on hours over 70 - that is really just an excuse to keep our pay values low and work the hell out of crew so be can pay for our ever increasing medical care and none existent B-Plan.

You're forgetting the 11:28 JFK-TUS 3 day that pays 13:30. Do two of those in a row. 4 days away from home, 4 legs, 27 hours. Commutable out pm, commutable in am. And I'm not even senior.

Except that super dupper work rules doesn't always apply. For instance a same duty period trip as your 13:30 but a JFK-OAK-LGB then JFK pays block.

Work more credit less: that is the jetBlue way.

Weeeeee.

No way. Thats one of our biggest selling points...a corner stone. We'll never charge for that. I agree on the wifi comment. We'll see.

I don't think we'll charge for tv's either, but headsets I could see. People take them on the way down the jetbridge, then inflight pushes them into the arms of everyone walking onboard, even with a set of our headsets in their hand and iPod headsets hanging out of their ears. It would be an easy way to make a buck or two per head which may seem small but with pricing power the way it is, a 2 dollar fare increase would make world headlines and cause comsumer outrage (if you believe airline management). Free TV/radio and bring your own headsets, or buy ours for a buck or two, not such a big deal.

Yeah, 'cause THAT'S a great idea... merge with a company continuously in the red for a while now while having cash issues of your own.

'Blue has a great product and needs to concentrate on slowly growing their own house, not jump into bed with someone.

The new announcement of West Coast expansion sounds like the beginnings of a good game plan.

Uh, it was a joke and a dig at all those that buy into the 'Delta's going to buy us' fear mantra/so we better unionize BS. Mine was even more improbable though, therefore i posted it.

But then you just did 2 redeyes and 2 day sleeps in 4 days. Tell the whole story.

I'm glad to see that everyone approves of Dave Barger taking over. I give this change my personal endorsement!

OK, here's some trivia for you. Guess who my "right hand man" was at New York Air and Continental in the 80's when I was on my reign of terror?

Ah yes, Dave is a great guy. I tought him everything he knows. I'm sure everyone at JBLU will love him, especially when he starts asking for pay cuts. I see he has already done a swell job getting some of you to drink the Kool-Aid and hold out hope that "this time it will be different."

Suckers.

I guess if the person in charge of your Newark operations (Barger) was your "right hand man", what was your left hand man doing to you? I'll leave that up to interpretation, heheh...

Oh, I gotcha. Didn't see any smiley faces, thought you were serious. :)

If you're going try and be cute at least get you ducks in a row Frankie. Stephen Wolf was your right hand man and so was Johnny O' as well as Don Burr. Have a miserable day!

Sure. I go to sleep for 8 hours. Bliss kit-pilfered eye mask and ear plugs. That's the whole story.

Cheers,

SCR

FedEx flying for JB wages. No thanks.

Although the Loew's Ventana is nice.

Both are great people, very smart and know exactly what they are doing in their capacity. Having said that, DN did a great job getting this place started, having the vision to create an airline that put the customers first and treated the crewmembers right. In the past 2 years, that has started to fade. Customer service is not quite what is was when I started here and the treatement of the crewmembers has started to slip a bit as well. I think this is a great move and should really re-energize the airline. DN will serve an important role in that he will still have the creative input and be able to throw great ideas on the table. DB though will have control of our airline and the future if JB, and I am very excited about that. He is a level headed thinker with the best interest of both the crewmembers and customers in mind. He is also surrounding himself with some good new people who have ideas. For example, the same day this is announced, it is reported that JB is looking to expand growth in the west....conincidence or just a new way of thinking of growth for the company. I believe the latter.

:puke:Throw up from cool aid OD.

One man's trash is another's treasure ?

How's that SWA app coming along Mr. Sunshine?

They don't do red-eyes... But you may have multiple 4-5 leggers with 15 minute turns.. Commuter flying for FDX wages!
Hope you can make a quickie BM!

I heard Barger was reading a story to a grammar school class when he got the news. He was informed by his security detail and his handlers decided that FLL was a much safer place to drink Pina Coladas.

I am demanding an investigation at the next Open Haus / Town Hall Meeting / Pocket Session / recurrent.

More rumors to follow.

That's true, and he was so clueless he went back to reading to the grammar school students until a second storm hit the following month when he was then wisked away to an unknown location. Michaels Moore and Boyd are doing a docudrama on the potential underlying conspiracies, especialy since we just hired Donald Imus (no relation) as our new VP of media relations.

"Mike Boyd said the most serious problem for JetBlue is its aggressive plane purchases, noting the airline's long-term prospects are uncertain. 'They could implode. They have a lot of costs coming on line and they will have a hard time filling airplanes,' he said."

Gee that's really too bad. Maybe the pilots should come up with another innovative idea to save money, like the back-to-back transcon scheme.

How about fly-for-free-Fridays, where the cockpit crews give up their pay to subsidize the airline? Or how about giving up layover hotels, and sharing steam grates with the homeless to sleep on?

The possibilities are endless. I have a feeling that the JBLU flight crews will not let us down and show us that they are the true visionaries we think they are.

Your wife for example? Sorry, couldn't resist. Very Un-Caring of me. Or are you talking about JetBlue in general?

You know what I call a JB pilot that doesn't have an app in at another airline ... an Airbus Captain.

They also don't do Aruba ... Yahoo! Now that's some clean livin'. But why go to Southwest when you can stay here and do that on the 190? Why leave one train wreck for another? But why the slam on LUV? Makes no sense.

As for my original take on the 4 days worth of 13:30 -- just want anyone asking about our trips to get the whole story. Some trips are good, LOTS are okay, some downright suck. Probably standard for any airline. I wouldn't know, I wasted my first 13 years of flying in the military of all places.

LUV certainly doesn't fly redeyes. But neither do I for that matter.

Is it really worth the hijack to get into it again?

Why not make more disparaging remarks about Neeleman's daughters? You're so smart!

Wow? Myself and other's have been F/O's longer than you've been even flying commercially. And as Captains we are now "out of touch". You're sooo smart.

Just keep spreading your cheer!
Really, try another airline... it would be best for all of us! All the other airlines are PERFECT. NO problems at all.
