Thanks, Turbo-- I don't know how I ended putting the wrong rates up!

Oh yea. And you have 5500 hours and your only a 2 year FO at a regional. You must be a real peice of work

I thought the same, had to laugh at the poor bastrad....

he must be one hell of a stick though with that many hours behind him.:D

You never know who you're bashing on...

After 9/11 we picked up quite a few furloughed Northwest pilots, USAir, etc with probably closer to 10,000 hours who were promised "quick upgrades"... they're just now beginning to see them - the first NW guys are in upgrade class now, the rest should be upgrading shortly.

We have a really odd mix of guys anywhere from 600 to 16,000 hours total time in the right seat, and 16,000 down to 2,500 hours total time in the left seat - it's not so amusing when the guy in the right seat was a -9 or 727 Captain somewhere and is yanking the gear for a guy who just upgraded to Captain after turning 23 last month.

Times are strange out there boys and girls...

p.s. I wasn't here for the last contract and agree that by today's standards, the pay rates even for me as a 4th year CA suck badly, but you guys missed seeing the LAST contract before this one... makes this one look like the Holy Grail of regional contracts it sucked so bad. We'll see what our new one looks like in a few years - today is the first official day of negotiations.

For those of you so interested in my backround, and want to slam me for being a second, albeit almost third, real "regional" FO...since you are such aviation studs and are probably 1500 hour "wonder jet" captains....here you go.

I Flew for a Jet charter company for almost 2 years, after CFI'ing for 2 years. So when I decided to leave that world for the "brighter" pastures of the 121 world, I had about 2400 hours TT. I flew at a "regional for about two years before moving on to even brighter pastures. As some of you heard, the aviation world was turned upside down not long after that. So, excuse me for finding a job a a regional that at least offered me the chance to fly great aircraft to great locations for a rate that myself and my family can consider a livable wage.....where 20 year FO pay is not less than my companies second year pay. and yes, when I decided to go for a third "Airline", I narrowed my choices to one of 3, or maybe 4 companies only. Can many of you say that? Oh, the ones that were definitely out were Mesa, Chatauqua, Mesaba, Pinnacle, Trans States and any Usairways or United express company.

And yes, I am a hell of a stick.......

If you don't wish to be "slammed," then don't slam others.

You are correct in pointing out that Pinnacle's FO payrates are relatively low. You, however, failed to mention that Pinnacle's 50-seat-jet CA rates are higher than your beloved ASA's.

What are your suggestions for raising the payrates at your company and others?

Those are some AWESOME rates, Mesa and Pinnacle!!! My 2nd year FO pay at ASA is more than 20 year FO pay at Mesa and Pinnacle....Hilarious!
I'd also like to ask on what planet is 34 greater than 36????

Oh yeah....why are your first year rates lower also?

Sorry to confuse youIP076, I fly the CR700, and the rate is a bit higher.

And Turbo, sorry to offend you. The reasons to select a company go far greater than just pay rate, too numerous to mention here. There may be other reasons to rule out Pinnacle for someone other than 50 seat Captain rates, which may or may not be higher at Pinnacle. I'm sure Pinnacle is a fine company, with fine people working there.

It just blows my mind that peole think it is strange or even unusual for someone to have 5000+ hours and be only 3 years into a regional airline in this day and age....but I'm sure most of those are the 1500 hour super pilot Captains!

And P.S.....1st year rate at ASA sucks the big one. That was a heavily weighed factor, but in reality, nobody is much better.

Yeah...I wouldn't worry about people around here....

5500 hrs, 3 years at a regional....I don't see anything too wrong with that, heck, I'm at 2500 and just now applying to regionals, so I guess that could work out to be about the same.

BTW, how long does it take to hear back from you guys?? I did the phone screening 2+ weeks ago, they said I'd be hearing from them soon. (I understand they send you out a packet) I haven't recieved anything in the mail yet, just curious.

Are you a Comair driver? If so, did I read correctly that you folks just entered contract talks?

If this is correct, DAL is being pretty ballsy having their two WO's in contract talks at the same time. Especially when ASA's talks are NOT going well at all.
If they keep stalling us, it would be interesting to see both ASA/CMR start slowing the DCI money machine down......ooops, that's right, we don't make any money--I almost lost my head there for a minute.

Maddog:

I ended up getting Air Wisky's #s from somebody in this thread, and I threw it up the same day. That explains why it was up on the site when you looked :)
