Guess which finger I'm pointing with now. A Wright Amendment post turned into your commentary on the state of the airline business, and personal jabs at other pilots. Don't post things that you can't back up. Many pilots might not desire to work at a LCC airline, but all pilots would rather see an operation such as GIA go away.The_Russian said:Guess you have nothing better to do than look down and point fingers canyonblue.
Actually, Everest is at 29,000 MSL. So even crossing the Himalayas is out of the question for the Russian in her mighty Beech, unless she intends to shot-put it over. . . . now, that I would pay to see.N1atEcon said:How is cruising up and down Florida at 17000 close to space walking?
A successful Everest accent, I may give you that one.
Agreed...you would think that after paying $20K fly a stretch King Air, one would lay low and display some humility, instead you get this.canyonblue said:Guess which finger I'm pointing with now. But that's not really the point. The point is how do you protect DFW for at least 3 more years. As long as this 800lb gorilla is allowed to turn DAL into their own private field with 300 flts per day, this would keep any other LCC out of DFW due to higher costs of operation, not enough a/c to fight the fight, and a geographical disadvantage of a 30 minute commute as opposed to 10 minutes from Downtown Dallas. I say repeal it now, if Southwest will cap their gate space at DAL to the present amount. Otherwise, let it ride until the end of 2007, when AirTran, Jetblue, VUSA, and probably Spirit will have enough planes to fill out the remaining gates at DAL or DFW.
I hope you're wrong Calvin. They recently had a cash infusion by a sugar daddy of $125M, and there is more if needed it was said. The sugar daddy may be holding a caveat over the owners head that they will not infuse any more money unless the payroll is reduced. I know the present ownership wants to take the company public but that may be impossible unless expenses are further reduced. Let's hope with the recent reduction of oil in the last few days that this is a sign of the bubble bursting and further reductions are on the horizon. This would give a respite to all in need.:-) said:My sources tell me that Spirit's ownership is threatening to close the doors. I'll try and get more info, but the last I heard, their owner says that they won't last past next fall. I've got a few good friends at Spirit, I hope that they don't go the way of Southeast. This business sux sometimes.
Low, I too hope that Calvin is wrong.lowecur said:I hope you're wrong Calvin. They recently had a cash infusion by a sugar daddy of $125M, and there is more if needed it was said.
