Yeah, we are very very short on captains and just plain short on FOs. We could use 30+ captains to cover the schedule right now, let alone the yearly increase in utilization that is coming. As captains re-upgrade, we will need more fos, hence the hiring. I am hopeful that we will take from the furloughed Peidmont/ PSA pool before we take straight off the street hires.

What will happen in 2010 when the reduction in LGA takes place? The base would likely close and where does that leave them? Do they automatically get more flying at DCA and PHL?

Um, what? We have 22 on furlough. And we just lost the UAX rfp to XJT. This seems really odd. For what flying? We don't have that much attrition if any at all.

Big deal. The newhire class started the DAY after the recalls started class after the 9/11 furloughs. Welcome to the industry where you hire until you furlough and furlough until you hire. I'm sure there are still guys at AWAC that don't even know there are furloughed pilots there. Kinda like when I was furloughed and guys told me everybody had been recalled "months ago".

Why are people saying this is fake? I would never have posted a fake link. I know the Air Wis pilot link has not been updated.

BUT, their career section IS updated.

It IS legit, see for yourself...

Step 1. www.airwis.com

Step 2. On "Careers" drop down menu, select "Open Positions"

Step 3. Be amazed at the first link that is displayed: "11/17/2009 CRJ FIRST OFFICER"

How is the base seniority looking? Is ORF fairly senior?

You could probably get any base you want fairly quickly. For FOs ORF has very junior and very senior pilots. In general, senior to junior bases in order are PHL-DCA-RDU-ORF-LGA. I do not expect RDU or LGA to be around by summer next year.

Personally, I'd like to see PDT pilots hired or at the very least offered interviews before anyone else. They've suffered at the hands of USAir for far too long.

FYI... both links now show that they are accepting resumes for anticipated POTENTIAL hiring in early spring 2010.

AWAC has a lot of stuff going on right now with respect to bases. LGA HAS to be closing, although they have not said anything. We just lost the UAL RFP, and I am willing to bet that they were waiting on that decision to announce what would happen with LGA/RDU.

As for working here---good company, but right now no future past 2015. Based on that, anyone hired Jan 2010, would be a right seater for 5 years and then unemployed. Maybe something happens, maybe it doesn't? Nobody knows.

We still have a boatload of downgraded guys, they will probably upgrade again this spring. On top of that we have had FO's and CA's quitting. Not just guys turning down recall. I know of two CA's in Nov and two FO's. This has been going on now for about a year or so and nobody has been replaced in either position. So they HAVE to do something when USAirways unloads our summer schedules on us this spring. Thats all I have to offer that is fact and not "I heard...."

is anyone with a mac having trouble filling out the profile for the website? i filled out the application but the personal profile which has the "copy your resume here" section does not allow me to continue. at the bottom it says you can upload a resume file on the next page. i click next and i get a page full of code and errors?? this happens with both safari and firefox. am i the only one?

Air Wisconsin is not Mac friendly. Their entire computer network is Microsoft based and people with Macs have a lot of trouble doing company business of any type.

well what do you know, as soon as I call them to ask about it, it starts working again.... guess it was just down for mx. thanks

Does anyone know if they will contact you if your not accepted. I've applied to 4 airlines total now and only one ever responded with a negative answer.

This hiring is probably due to retirements, the pilot shortage is here.

good one... couple airlines furloughing s couple hundred pilots each and one that "may" be hiring some in 2010 means the pilot shortage is here?

Last I heard, about 6000+ furloughed on the street

Get used to it.....been furloughed over a year now with dozens of apps/resumes out and more often than not, you won't hear ANYTHING.

That is odd. You are supposed to get a certified letter each time regardless of the good or bad news. Usually it comes after one week of the application. Wait for it............... If you don't hear from someone in 5 minutes to a day or two after you submit your resume the chances of them calling are close to 0 as you're probably in a pile of excess resumes.

the lady on the phone told me they will not be reviewing the applications for a few weeks, so don't expect anything.... so says the lady on the phone. who knows what will actually happen.

From what i've heard, they were accepting resumes just to see what type of people would apply. They want to know what they will have to work with and how many people might be interested. I wouldn't expect them to start offering interviews for a while still.

Nope, we are accepting resumes for possible winter/spring classes. We need the FOs hired then so that they can fill in when we upgrade guys in Feb-april time frame. I think we are looking to hire 20-40, depending on how many furloughs accept recall.

Guess I'm not even going to be considered, if they only need that many people.
