I see Jetdirect keeps posting the same HPN jobs over and over again on Climbto350.com....over the course of the last 6 months. To me this tends to point to lousy pay, QOL etc...anybody have any details?

jet direct

i had a buddy who used to be there during the merger and he said it sucked...pay sucked, schedule sucked and management sucked....hope this helps

Stay away. Idiots run the place.

Thats actually not true at all. If you think about what has happened at Jet Direct in the last year, there are very clearly some incredibly bright, successful people invovled. They are, afterall, now the largest in the business with 150 aircraft nationwide.

I think its entirely premature to judge these guys until they are done with the roll-up phase. If they are struggling a year from now, I will be shocked. I would be more surprised if they had anything less than 200 airplanes.

Patience my friends. Rome wasn't built in a day and nor will this giant of a company be either.

What? Because they are the largest in the business, you now equate them with being the brightest? They have simply have had the largest capital infusion in the past 12 months with the buyouts. Doesn't make them the brightest, most successful in the industry.
Pilots can be so myopic.

They offered me a position in HPN for $75,000.

With a family, thats not even close.

exactly the response i would expect from a disgruntled pilot.

135 operators in general leave more than just a bit to be desired.....and I honestly think most of them are well aware of it. The differences in pay among 135 operators in the same geographic area for the same aircraft is substantial and schedules...well...that's a whole different thread.

Surprising that they would offer that when the fractionals are hiring at better long-term packages. How do these 135 companies expect to be able to compete for the "Best and the brightest" out there? I guess they won't expect to hire good people at those low rates...

Their attitude is We are the best! If you aren't the best we dont want you. They have an attitude of an old company but there still aquiring assests and their having trouble finding pilots. They just bought TAG, but thats another can of worms.

Let's just hope the fact that they can't find pilots causes operators as a whole to increase pay and move towards a better QOL for crews. I honestly can't get over what some of them get away with.

Hi!

Sentient just bought Tag's US ops.

Is Jet Direct and Sentient the same company?????

sentient acquisitions

Sentient has had some major cash infusions and has been on a buying spree to positiion itself as one of the countries dominant charter players.

They acquired Jet Direct as well as Tag USA. They also just bought Raytheon Aircraft's charter division from the investment company that got it when it acquired Raytheon Aircraft and Raytheon aircraft services.

The investment company had changed RACM (Raytheon Aircraft Charter and Management) to HBCM (Hawker Beechcraft Charter and Managemnt) and Sentient, upon acquiring the charter company, immediately changed the name back to RACM but they do not disclose what the "R" is supposed to stand for now.

I just started at JetDirect and wish I hadn't. They made me a lot of promises and I havn't seen one of them yet. I can't even get a company credit card, thats how lame they are. No one is in charge and the ones that are are afraid of losing their jobs. I've talked to about half the pilots here and most if not all are not happy. They haven't even decided on a winter uniform. They told us to just wear whatever and make sure it was nice looking and contained no emblems or names on it. Great huh? They keep promising a major payraise but keep slipping that. It was last July, then October I think, now its NEXT July or so. I think I will get a job picking up garbage, getting tired of this.

LearJT has a point you should leave as soon as you can. If your not under contract, which if you are I would look at ways trying to get out of it. I know that one base lost 3 pilots in course of 4 days. They are hurting for pilots and can't seem to find any. Either they are too picky or pilots dont want to go there. I have some dealing with them. I used to work at one of their bases. Go at your own risk!

My understanding is that chief among reasons Sentient acquired TAG was to get some management horsepower that is apparently lacking at JetDirect. I would say as long as TAG Management stays in place, things will shape up in the long run. The question is, will it be worth it to tolerate the turmoil for a year or more while the bad eggs are shoved out...

if indeed flyfly that the "Bad eggs" are picked out....... i will take it all with a grain of salt........... I think they are still too busy looking out for new acquisitions(sp) etc. while they are not looking in and getting a handle on why their flight crews are leaving. most companies acquired were having problems and to just acquire them is not enough

LNJ,

If you are unhappy then leave. No one forces you to stay.

You know I never do understand ********************ty attitudes like this.

It's like you think there are only two choices in dealing with a job that abuses you, Quit or accept it. Well that's lame. How about stand up and fight for better compensation or treatment. How about complain to make things better. It's a supply and demand issue. These kind of employers don't give a ******************** about you, only about how you can make them money. And for some reason if that is not OK, then your suppose to just quit. Bullcrap.

If you are a professional that do your job like your suppose to, then you should be compensated like a professional. And if your not, then you should complain, bitch, and work with your fellow employees to make things better.

This attitude of well if you don't like it leave, is pathetic, and it just supports the company's attitude of "having this job is a privilege".

if this is how you feel why didn't you just stay at your first employer and shape into the exact dream job you wanted?

That is how I feel.

Everyone must start out some where, and it normally isn't there dream job. So that's your first job. But once you gain skills and experience you can and should ask for more or take a career advancement. Once you gain professional skills and experience then your not moving on for a career advancement, IE a pic position or jet position, or international position etc.

But your attitude of take what they give you or move on is lame. How about offer your skills and exerience and expect to be compensated like a professional. Too many people lower there standards to fly. I think the industry doesn't have as much of a supply as they once did, so pilots can ask for more.
