I'm not trying to get ahead fo anybody out there. I just want to start flying for Blue. I have my own issues with a future deployment. I could wait for a 320 class but like somebody said, to me seniority is everything. I also look at QOL.
Hopefully we'll get to meet someday and have a few beers together.

I have two kids at home and one due this month. I bet you and I have very similiar priorities.

I wouldn't sell my senority number to the guy behind me for the difference in pay.

The rumor is that they are increasing the E190 FO pay pretty soon. I've heard the begining of 07.

Oh, if you have the possibility to deploy, then get the number and deploy man. I know your not trying to get ahead of anyone, but you will jump ahead of some of us holding out for the 320 and you will get that number while your out doing us all some good. It is stupid to wait for the 320, but most of us are stupid to begin with since we are in this career anyways. I'm very comfortable with the decision to wait for a couple of classes to better my life the first few years. I may wish I had not given up a few numbers down the road, but it isn't that big a deal to me. You will always be jealous of the guys 50-100 #'s in front of you and there will always be someone senior to you that will take something you want. I just didn't want to risk the chance of making 30K for two years on the 190 and sending my wife to work with me out of town. I knew what the pay was when I applied and I knew I would wait for the 320 if it came down to it. I was just hoping it would be a minimal seniority hit and it looks like it will be just a bit more than minimal that is why it was actually a tough decision to turn down the 190 because I knew what I was giving up. I also just called Bernice today and she said they will be filling up the Oct classes within the next couple of weeks and they will most likely know the # and size of the 320 classes in Nov within the next couple of weeks. Lets hope ther are two big classes in Nov!

Like they say in my guard unit, family first, civilian jobs second and guard third. We'll see what happens with this deployment.

No, Bernice said they would fill the 190 Oct classes and have an idea on how many and how big the Nov 320 classes would be. This was also the first career related decision that I made to put my family first. To take the 190, I would have had to send my wife to work almost full-time and hire some sort of a nanny to watch the kids since I will be commuting. I've tried my best to keep my expenses low, but as you get older and have more kids, the car has got to be bigger, the house has got to be bigger, and the bills inevitably get bigger. I've worked for 30K per year a few too many years in this career to do it again. Like I said earlier, I was well aware of the 190 pay and didn't expect it to ever be a choice I would make. With the slowdown in 320's however, I actually considered it when I saw the seniority hit I would take. Tough choice, but I'm content with what I did. Hope to see you in Nov!!

Well I got a called today change of plans I will be attending the Sept 13 airbus class. The phone call came as a huge surprise, but I am rearranging life to make it work. See you guys there

Just an update for what I heard about classes for those who are waiting for the a320---- spoke to Bernice yesterday and she said they are going to run a class of 10 in Oct. But that will be the last one run for the year. Hopefully that won't hold true for those still waiting for a class date.

Hmmmmm. It seems like things change often for the 320. I talked to Bernice about a week ago and she said nothing in Oct and two in Nov with one in Dec. Things must be very fluid with the 320 staffing or they are being vague so guys will take the 190. Hopefully we will see one in Oct and a couple in Nov with another in Dec. Remember they were saying they were not going to run classes in Aug or Sep either.
