I met a jetBlue higher up today who told me that jetBlue is going to be getting 50 seat RJs. I thought he might be confusing terms with the Embraer 190, but he said no, jetBlue is getting 50 seat jets to enable them to use LGB's commuter slots. He said one seat would be removed to bring it under the restriction.

True story or bogus?

He gave my buddy his business card and said he'd get him hired. Why would he make this stuff up?

What is the name on that card??

Further, is jetblue aquiring 50 seaters or is someone else flying them. Either way, it could get ugly real quick!

Great C scale? Or are they going to work for free "Just 'cause flying is fun". Just some humor kool aid drinkers, don't get bent out of shape.

I checked my sources, and what's up is this: JB is buying PSA, but only the CRJ200's. PSA's CRJ700's are going to MAG.

So, would 50-seat RJ FOs at JetBlue start at $9/hr based on the E190 scale? Great - living in Long Beach/LA on $9/hr... Even Compton would be too expensive. Thank God you JetBlue guys don't have a union to protect yourselves or the rest of the industry...

I also heard that we are getting Colgan to fly SAAB's for us and that L.A.B. Flying Service from Haines, AK will be feeding us with Cherokee Sixes.

Cheers!

The unions seem to be doing a bang-up job at the other airlines. I was/am a "card carrying" union member and the union sure helped me a bunch. When it came time to furlough me, my union put it's arm on my shoulder and said "Feel real bad for ya son, I remember when I was furloughed back in the early 90's. Rough luck for ya." I even had ALPA call me about six months after my furlough looking for some dough.
Thank God that TWA had ALPA as well. When it was time to step up to the plate to help in seniority issues with APA, ALPA said "rough luck boys. BUT there is some GREAT news, did you hear we just got CAL back at ALPA? Isn't it great?" "Not only that, but we just saved a load of money on car insurance by switching to Geico"

Thank God USAirways is ALPA, otherwise there would have been massive furloughs, pensions stripped away, huge paycuts, work rule concessions etc....

Thank God UAL is ALPA, otherwise there would have been massive furloughs, pensions stripped away, huge paycuts, work rule concessions etc....

Thank God AA has the APA, otherwise there would be a whole bunch of furloughs, pay cuts, work rule concessions.

I can never forget reading the ALPA mag. when the industry first started getting into its current turmoil. The lead story? LAHSO!!! Duane (who never misses an opportunity to get his picture put somewhere) Was trumpeting the progress made over LAHSO. I thought "man, that's a good thing."

Maybe an in house union would be stronger but I am NOT impressed by ALPA or APA or the teamsters (airline division).

.........said the furloughed, part time global express FO. How are the benefits with that gig?

So let me get this straight....we (meaning the "JetBlue guys") are supposed to protect the "rest of the industry"? I assume you mean the same industry that has been fighting to put us out of business for over 5 years? I know you were just being sarcastic but it's getting old.

Get a grip on yourself man!

Resurrect Hoffa

You hit the nail!! Todays unions are weak. We need to resurrect Jimmy Hofa
and the baseball bats.

Have you ever flown a Global Express? Not only can my aircraft outperform yours, but I am paid better than you even on a part-time basis. I guess you can't recognize some sarcasm...

However, it's true that your E190 rates SUCK and you know it. You can argue all you want but your rates are placing a cap on regional rates and are putting pressure on all non-regional rates - something to be proud of....
