Is XOJet hiring again?

I saw a add on AviationInterviews.com that says they are hiring FOs. I thought they had just furloughed not so long ago. Whats the word from anybody over at XO? I know a former Cherry Air guy on here works there. Whats the word man?

Negligible? Well, I do work here...so I'd say my advice/response carries more weight than that from someone who doesn't.

Biased? Sure, to an extent. While I'll be the first to admit that our RIF was a black-eye on the history of our company, it's not going to stop us from moving forward and getting on with life.

Uniformed? Ironic that you misspell 'uninformed'...not sure what you mean, regardless. Care to try again?

To the original posters questions...not sure if we have any interviews coming up, but a class of 6 just went through indoc and initial training. We had a round of layoffs in November, 2008. They were not furloughed, as we don't have a union and are not working under a contract. It has it benefits, as well as its obvious downsides. Take the time to learn for yourself about a company you'd consider working at before jumping to conclusions based on what you read here or any other message board. I think most of us wish Nov '08 would have been handled differently, but it's too late for that.

I was told this morning we are looking for pilots both Stateside and for the Middle East. I don't know what the deal is in the US, but I know for a fact we need 5 Citation X pilots for the Middle East ASAP.

As for Broke's comment, well that's just Broke being Broke. As always, he has his own unique perspective. Obviously, if they were trying to get rid of the higher paid old timers, T-bone would have been gone a long time ago. If you want to know something about XOJET, I recommend you ask and listen to T-bone.

I recall very recently perusing their 'careers' link on their website and noticed a bunch of forward-looking anticipatory statements referencing growth in 2008. It was a bit puzzling ..as if the page was simply 'frozen in time' from 2007. As an outsider looking in; I wasn't terribly impressed with that seemingly small aspect (perhaps an unstaffed HR recruiting dept that dropped the ball and nobody every picked it up..).

Believe it or not, investors & potential clients look at these things too.. and quickly refine an opinion about an organization based upon a public medium such as this.

After reading some of these posts, I'm not sure what to make of the place.

CitationAir doesn't have a union either but they furloughed pilots and recalled some. Having a furlough has nothing to do with a union. Some company's just do the right thing.

Flyinloki, Yes we just hired 7 I think. I know T-bone said 6, but I'm pretty sure it was 7... As far as more hirings, it might be another couple of months. We have 2 more CL300's coming in the next 3 months, so I'm guessing hiring will probably resume then.

As far as the same people who always jump on the Xojet bash wagon (broke, dime, and all their die hard union buddies), they can't and won't ever get over the fact that we terminated people instead of furloughing. There was a reason that some/most were let go out of order, I hate to say it but its true.

For those of us still here that have moved on past this event still really enjoy our job and the pilots we work with. Things are looking better and better every day and this company is still a great place to be. Take it for what its worth because I'm not going to engage in the useless banter thats about to take place from a couple of members in 3,2,1... Flame on.

I'm sure you have all flown with someone, and after the trip thought I really don't want to fly with that guy again. If several different pilots feel the same way about an individual why keep that guy around when the company needs to make cuts spending. I feel bad for those guys, but the squeaky wheel gets replaced.

Do you honestly think that I feel this was the perfect way of terminating/furloughing pilots? I was on the bottom of the list when it happened and voiced that it wasn't the right way of doing it! There is nothing that can be done about it now and most pilots here aren't proud of how it all went down... And you have been added to my block list! Same useless banter every time with you and broke!

That isn't the case at all... I voice my concerns to the right people and/or places whenever they arise. Everyone else does as well. We actually have a great way of staying in communication with our teams and CP-DO. Issues get addressed and fixed. Simple as that.


Listen guys, We all know the story about the 23 who got terminated. Everyone who gets the job knows about the story. Its not like we hide it... We don't need the same 5 or 6 disgruntled people always posting the same thing on EVERY XO thread! GET OVER IT!!!

Some people still would like to work at Xojet and would like current information. So instead of being a broken record and bashing me personally, start your own thread that you can just bash Xojet or me or what ever! I'm actually trying to help people get info and jobs.

Calls for the next round of interviews are starting next week. I don't have all the details yet , but if you have a person who can recommend you, call them! PEACE OUT! (steps off soap box)

I heard about a NWA captain who was told if he got one more FO that placed him on their "No-fly" list, he would be terminated. NOT a good guy in the cockpit!
