Im a regional guy of about 5 years, and REALLY would love to work for Kilitta Air over any other ACMI, however I don't have an "IN" at Kalitta. I have heard that you have to have someone walk your resume in to get an interview. My question to anyone that knows, would it be looked at in a negative way to maybe call and speak to the chief pilot and bend his ear??? Im pretty sure that if I could at least get an interview I could probably get a position there.
Thanks for the help.
There IS NO SCHEDULE at Kalitta.
If you can't grasp that concept, don't even consider applying.
There are Lines to bid...But, you will not fly them.
You just go out for 17 days and then take 13-14 off.
Simple.
Of the 17 days you are out, plan on working 6-8 of them.
Done.

Sounds like you need to take a stress test there buddy...you might be under to much pressure!!
Can you grasp that concept??

He is exactly correct about the schedule at Kalitta. It is unlike any other airline.
Yep, different than any other airline except Atlas, World, OMNI, Southern Air, etc.
Yes..Are they serious about jet only time? I only have turboprop time. 1800 TPIC though.
i got $80 to burn so im gonna check out the job fair. am i just payin $$ to put my resume in a big pile or is it really a good chance to have a chat about the job and get some face time?? im going to knock on kalitta's door, not eagle or skywest!!

Hmmm...sometimes the written word fails me....I don't see where my post indicates a high stress level on my part (?)
What I DID mean to stress, is the fact that this is about as far from 121 scheduled pax operations as you can get, and some people have trouble dealing with the transition.
So, it behooves one to form a new mindset before even bothering to apply.
Just trying to lay it out plain and simple for folks who are considering the move.
No worries mate, stress levels are well under control...Why just look at THIS:

You would seriously pick Kalitta over Atlas and World??

haha, well maybe he is considering the upgrades at Kalitta are less than a year, or maybe he lives in Michigan, whatever, it's his interest not yours.
I have to agree in that there are worse places to be than Kalitta. Jobs are so much what you make them to be and it's your own personal career so if it is meeting the expectations of career path who am I to judge.
At least he has some standards. Thank God he hasn't lowered his sights to show interest in Evergreen!![]()
