Uhhhh, um yeah. Growth in Atlanta? Where can more aircraft possibly land and takeoff? Delta has already tried annexing taxiway mike for landing. Perhaps a monstrous pizza party to get exclusive use of runway 28?

There are actually quite a few down times during the day between Delta pushes.

Do you fly out of ATL on a regular basis? Ever since the controllers got their contract done and with the addition of 28, Atlanta runs pretty smooth even on marginal days.

I have more to lose than most of you- being close to the bottom, and expect a favorable SLI bc we're much stronger and bought them-
But, to say that AT wasn't viable is really dumb- theyrethe one carrier that holds their own on costs with us- and give us ATL giftwrapped which helps our entire network immensely-
That kind of rhetoric is what convinced the East to go the route they did - they got convinced that it was the west who wasn't viable- and it was all made up fantasy- yet they made big decisions that hurt the whole industry based on that- argue your point- and I do- it ought to be slanted toward SWA bc the jobs aren't equal- but to not recognize how eliminating this competitor and joining forces w/ AT is very valuable to us is ridiculous.
Welcome aboard- and keep that 10%er crap within the 10%- it's really not anywhere else from what I see

You sir, are a wise man! Each side needs to have a healthy respect for what the other brings to the dance. This has nothing to do with any SLI crap, and admitting that AAI was your toughest competitor who has strengths in areas you may be weak is the truth. It does not diminish SWA in any way to admit that, in fact it proves how savvy your management team is. I know the AT pilots all recognize how great SWA is, however it seems as though some SWA pilots continue dismiss AT as irrelevant. We are more similar than many would like to believe. Both airlines started from nothing and faced fierce competition from established legacies and learned to fight for every inch of ground. Everyone knows SWA is the "big fish", just understand the value that the scrappy up-n-comer brings to the deal. Again, this post has nothing to do with SLI posturing or any other BS.

Just saw the SW inhouse video where Torti, Director of Training says they could run 700 newhires next year without much trouble.

Interesting times ahead for sure..
