Just like aerodata, expect many growing pains w/ PBS and ALOT of moaning from the pilot corp. This would be a good time to get some advise from our SKW brothers about how to work the system.

There will be NO PBS in the new contract. None. It's a non-starter.

Why do you think the company agreed to a 3 year duration? So they can get PBS next time around!

what we'll hear is: we've set 3 more days of meeting between alpa/asa. The dates will be late March or early April. Most likely someplace southern and coastal (spring golf anyone???).

The first day they will each pass love notes.

The second day they'll both take TINY steps towards actually getting this thing done, then sit in private caucus.

The third day they'll leave early. When they get back, they'll BOTH blame the other for the lack of any REAL progress.

Then we wait 2 more months until they meet again.

And yet everyone is still afraid to rock-the-boat?!?

Anyone think HelloNewman is D'Angelo?? I realize D'Angelo was supposedly a Comair guy and HelloNewman is supposedly a SKW guy, but they sound like the same broken record.

Anyone over at SKW actually want to claim this guy???

HELLLLLL NO!! No one here at SKW claims that idiot. Who knows who he really works for. Who knows if he is even a pilot.

Word is that he recently won a gold medal in a butt dart tournament.

The company has made is very clear that they want/need PBS as a cost savings measure. Why wouldn't the union save/use this during the super mediated talks to get what we really want ie. higher base salary and merger protection.

I love having the ability to turn 1 week vacation into 2 or 3 but I would give it up for the greater good.

Because PBS would require a total rewrite of the Scheduling section. The mediator has already said no to that... his job is to get the contract done, not redo things that have already been agreed to.

The company had their chance with PBS and blew it. If they wanted it so bad, they should have never told the union several times during the negotiation process that they wanted hard lines.

Greater good? And do you actually trust ASA to give a darn about the system once it's doing what they programmed it to do- having it cover their lack of planning? PBS is a no-go for me. Sorry. Not this time around.

And why did they just all-of-a-sudden feel the need to get PBS? It is a recent development, a card pulled after section 13 was ALREADY TA'd.
That fact alone should cause everyone great suspicion.
