Heyas,

Been on and around since 1999.

None of the current trolls are 1/100 as funny as Jimbo. He was a pilot's troll...

#788 baby. although it shows I joined in 2001, I guess the changeover from the old forum reset everyone's join date?

How can you figure out your original start date or number? I can't figure it out....:(

Bye Bye--General Lee

Sometime around Spring 1999 while I was in college. The brass ringer chased back then has been heavily dossed with tarnish. If I could do it again, every once of energy would of gone to beer and irresponsibility before lifting a finger for this profession.

I have been on this forum since around 1997. I have changed names once, as has Blue Dude, and a few others. AvBug has been here a long time, Enigma too.

The board was originally started by a fellow Aviator named Mark, who is no longer with us. He was quite a guy. I still have some emails and PM's from him. He lost his life in a Lear 35 accident, and a friend stepped up to run this board and try to earn some revenue for the family that Mark had to leave behind. Perhaps someone with more recent knowledge can fill in the rest of the story.

Thank you Mark. You helped me and thousands of others learn about our industry, our profession, pass along techniques, find employment, and have some laughs along the way. God bless you.

Ty

Mark was a very decent guy.He owned a Commonwealth taildragger he kept in Middlefield,OH.He died in a mid air with a 172 near Akron. He was with a friend in an experimental. The line at the memorial service went all the way around the outside of that church !This is a link:

I've been here since 1998 or so,#399.That wayback machine was great ! Haven't seen JeffG since he was at PSA.I don't know if the old regulars like CFIITed,OzPilot,Poor727SO@night or IgnitionOverride still read this site or not.Bob Novak ran the ProPilot board. Then somebody threatened to sue him over some post on it and he shut it down.Remember The Flight Instructor's Homepage ? What a zoo !

How long has Flightinfo been around? I am pretty sure i have been on here since 1999.

I remember drooling when I read about guys getting interviews with the majors. Oh how times have changed!

u came here 11-14-2004 according to your profile.

I was "Racer-X" in '98-2000. I don't remember why I changed and re-signed up.

I had dialup. I used to go get a beer and take a dump before the page loaded.

I remember when this "new" format started.....I hated it...now I love it in comparison.

'98 or '99. Just went by "x" before the format change.

propsr4boats(sic) and citationboy (tag:I'm at a major and you're not) were my favorites.

Read it and weep boys: #75

I don't remember when I was first here. I know it was well before the format change.

I forgot about jimborealgoodpilot, fnfal and all those others. It was good to see Surplus post the other day. Coopervane I had forgotten about RacerX too.

Which brings up another point. How many of you newbies PFT'd to get on here? 'Back in the day' we earned our nicknames. We didn't pony up $10 so we could pretend to be real message board pilots.

I assume #1 was the founder of F.I. Who is #2 or who is in the top #10 here?

Number 248. That and $2.85 will get me a venti Cafe Americano at Starbucks.

Back in the day, Super80, SurplusOne and
Avbug ruled the day.

edit. The anniversary dates apparently show your sign up date with the new forum. I was here as Leardriver and then 8N well before 1999, maybe back into 1997. I think someone else used Leardriver after I changed.

I used to have one more sign on (back when they were free :-) ) but I can't remember the password. LOL

I'm #23 (not sure if I'm proud of that, tho)...

#1 is admin, register in '06.. Don't think that was Mark...

#2 webmaster

The only ones in the top ten that show activity are buzo (8) and onthebeach (10)...

Does anyone remember jimborealgoodpilot telling everyone that he use to make all his FO's hand fly all day long, except when he was banging one of the flight attendants....then he would make them put the autopilot on and watch.......now that is funny!

sen # 762

Damn, it feels like I've been here forever, but my number is way down the list: #6,922. I had a couple of other usernames before, though, so I think I joined in about 2001 originally.

Long Time

#774 after the re-org. Can't remember what I was on the original, but may have been lower. Joined to network and get good interview gouge in 96. Stuck around to "pay it back." The site sure has morphed over time. Wish I could say it was for the better. Maybe once hiring picks up again, this site will return to it's fomer glory.

I was originally on around 97 but under a different name. Anybody know what happened to Caneman....the guy who flew 727's and was kinda out there?

#484

I had an older username back in the day.

#40. I was in high school. propsr4boats, flychicaga, where for art thou?

I remember you as propsr4boats, ah those were the days...
