I flew for a "commuter" (what it was known back then)--Midway Connection--out of Chicago Midway airport, so I have that backround.

I've been wondering forever and a day how you got so "confused" about "commuters" and at last I know. You must have been touched by God Mugger who actually believed that Midway was a "major" airline.:D

Seriously, while I seldom agree with you and think you have little understanding of the real relationship between large and small airlines, I still enjoy you posts. They're often quite entertaining. Keep voicing your opinions General, they're good for everyone in a variety of ways and are often funny.

All the best and sorry about your massive pay cuts. I'm sure you noticed we've just joined you by eating our on s_it sandwich.

Yeah, I noticed. I kept saying that EVERYONE (including Delta and Comair) would feel the hand of bankruptcy. It suks no doubt. I have also had some great debates with you and Fins. I have been hoping we would get you guys stapled to our list so you could be my FO on the MD88 when I get that left seat. That would be fun. I would pay for your third and fifth beers, ok?

And, I now have over 6000 posts! Ah yeah! Take care.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Come to think of it that I would get a kick out of watching you deal with your new command. I've never flown and 88 but awhile back I put many years in the left seat of a 9-51 and it would be a blast to help a new commander-in-chief learn to dry behind his ears. Besides that I like Douglas airplanes.

Point of order however: Generals have to buy ALL the beers for leftenants. None of this 3rd and 5th stuff. A proper commander must know his place and ante up for the peasantry.

PS. Would you let me wear a leather jacket and scarf or do they always keep you guys in sailor suits? I think they should issue you white hats in memory of PAA. The "naval aviators" would also feel more at home, ridht?

Alright, second through fifth beers, and the shrimp bucket.... And, you can wear a leather jacket.(I won't say anything, but the chief pilot might) I do look DAM good in that sailor suit, though.

Well, first let me say again that I enjoy all aspects of Aviation and this industry. I don't really like getting a pay cut or going through bankruptcy, but overall I enjoy the job. I flew for a "commuter" (what it was known back then)--Midway Connection--out of Chicago Midway airport, so I have that backround. I know what it is like to have squat left after you pay the bills, and I also know the feeling of having a big paycheck and then watch it get cut by 47%. I have seen a lot happen, just like you have in the past few years.

I like to respond in all of the forums. I have posted questions many times in the cargo section, and a few times in the fractional area. But, I am more familiar with the Majors and Regional sections, and I have participated in both of them too.

Regardless of the section, I really respond to issues I am interested in. Most of the Major's threads as of late deal with the Southwest selection board, or Jetblue interview dates. I have fought it out before with Ty Webb at Airtran, but as of late we agree on a lot of things. I used to fight a lot with the Jetblue guys, and I still get on their case about transcon turns, but other than that I have noticed that their management runs the show over there. I don't seem to argue with many legacy pilots, since most are in the same boat as I am. I will respond to certain issues over on that side, like changing the retirement age to 65, which I think is ridiculous. Where does that leave me? I seem to wander over to the regionals board often (after looking at the Major board), and I am always amused at the sheer joy regional pilots get when talking about possible larger planes that would stunt their "normal" progression in this airline industry. I know not everyone wants to go to a legacy or even move away from a regional, but I always seem to want to say something. I have been there---flying props in krap weather at 5am. I did it. I know the difference between then and now. I like what I do now and I have an opinion. No, I am not a furloughed pilot on the sidelines. I fly the 757/767 for Delta, and I enjoy it. I want others to have the abiltiy some day to do the same if they want. IF they don't, that's fine. But, I have an opinion and when I see something I think needs a response, I give it. It is an open forum and everyone is welcome, and if you want to be like Dave Benjamin and ignore me, then go ahead. What I write is not dogma, it is an opinion. I enjoy all parts of this industry. I really do.

Well Written...and Classy. Nice Job Mr. Lee

Guys like you and Dave Benjamin can't debate me because you know I am right most of the time. Support what you say if you can. You usually can't, and resort to name calling or put downs. That is what people do when they panic. You aren't supposed to sweat when you type. I do not try to belittle any regional pilots, because I was there too. My thousands of posts have been fun for me (maybe me alone), and that is good. You seem to hate your job, and that suks. Let go of your hate, 79%N1. Breathe in, breathe out.

Bye Bye--General Lee

PS--I also have thousands of posts because I actually try to respond to all of the replies I get from my posts. Guys like Dave and yourself can't respond half of the time because of your lack of substance in your posts. That's too bad.

People use put downs when they panic? Wow General, you must be such a panic state all the time you shake like a clepto at a garage sale...Seems to be why everyone loves you so much.

I admit it. I can't keep up with the General. He's hard to debate because he lives on his computer. 6000 posts and he's so proud of it he started a whole new thread to brag about it. He'll put up 50 posts on a single thread. I just don't have time for it. I've been busy. 14 or 15 days of flying which means 6 or 7 nights away from la casa. I've got personal and the business tax stuff to work on. Business itself is consuming a lot of time. No complaints because with the business growing I expect to make more than General Lee does this year. Plus I'll be home a lot more than GL. I guess he's probably got the pool boy servicing his wife so he can deal with being gone more. When I'm on an overnight I usually go out with the crew. To keep up with the General I'd have to be a slam-clicker and stay in my room on the keyboard.

If I ever find the time maybe I'll wander over to the freight or charter forums and find some people to belittle. Maybe that's the key to feeling better about yourself, ehhh General? Too bad I won't be able to read your whiny response. I'd rather have a life than try to formulate a response to every example of idiocy dickweed airs on this forum. If I've got a question for a DAL pilot I'll just talk to a real one. Somehow I suspect GL might be faking it. It's hard to imagine anyone being able to commit the kind of time to this Forum and hold down a job. Wonder if he's the teenage highschool dropout son of a DAL pilot. That could be it. His posts are real repetetive. How many times can you berate the SKYW pilot group for accepting that 50-99 seat TA. Of course he conveniently forgets UAL had recently declared bankruptcy and SKYW pilots were being told they could lose a bunch of flying. But when the good General defends his massive concessions by saying the company is bankrupt it's magically different.

Dave,

I thought you put me on IGNORE? Please ignore me then. Really, time for you to quit. I know it is like quitting heroin or crack, but just stop responding to me.

I would love to debate him again, like saying that SkyWest wasn't in bankruptcy like Comair was when they accepted their "one rate for all jets" proposal, but Dave will never see this because he is ignoring me. This is just a waste of time for me, because DAVE ISN'T GOING TO READ THIS. HE PUT ME ON IGNORE. Have a good day Dave, and enjoy all that pay and time off. That is wonderful. I am so glad he makes more than me and my wife combined. Wow, he's cool. The pool boy says hi to Dave too.
