I see where to get my airman certificate info http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/copy_of_certification_records/

I don't see how to get the PRIA information or information that former Airline employers may have written...any help?

Interesting. The FAA has updated its website.

1. Any PRIA requests sent previously by an airline or the FAA should have sent you a copy at the same time. Far as I know, there's no other way to learn what they sent after the fact.

2. To instigate your own FOI / Privacy act request, you can follow this link. Fill it out, send it in, and the FAA will give you all the information it has on you regarding incidents, accidents, enforcement history, etc. Highly recommend it, because this can have stuff on it a PRIA report wouldn't reveal, and unlike a PRIA, ANYONE can request it on you and you'd never know.

If you want to know why a PRIA and FOI from the FAA might show different info, go here:

3. If you want to know what former employers might actually send before you get your copy of a PRIA, you'll have to call the HR dept and ask for a copy of your file. It might cost $$, but it's best not to have surprises if you didn't check out your file before you left. They're not supposed to forward anything beyond 5 years, and they're only allowed to froward certain disciplinary things (for ex: Can forward how you violated an FAR while flying Pt 121, cannot forward that you called in sick too many times).

Here's a link that shows what they're SUPPOSED to send, but things can fall through the cracks . ..

Long winded FAA legal version (57 pages):

(go here and look up AC120-68d.pdf)

Cliff notes version here (recommended):

4. To get every (non-enforcement) piece of info the FAA has on you, follow the link below. If you've been in aviation awhile, it will be a thick packet. Also good to get. Costs a couple of bucks.

thanks! I'll read it when I get a few minutes. I was just worried after reading the original poster brought up the topic. So why would SkyWest threaten this if it has no business on a PRIA?

I'm not sure. In 2006 the rules were less clear, for one thing. The AC specifically says that they need to include why you left (terminated, resigned, disqualified, furloughed, etc.).

However, under the current rules, I suspect the kind of snark comment forwarded on the PRIA report would be considered "extra" information that isn't required; as such, Skywest might be opening itself up to a lawsuit.

And I'll be the first to admit . . . ALPA or another union on the property would be a good way to keep this stuff from happening.

consult an aviation lawyer - if you're an AOPA member you get some low-cost counsel, for a limited duration.

I think Skywest is wrong to attempt to punish you for something you in fact did not do or know about, that occured post-employment.

I bet a lawyer-crafted letter to the HR at St. George would get them to change their tune.

As far as "ineligible for re-hire" I'm not sure this has anything to do with PRIA anyway.

Just don't need to look for a new job before this gets straightened out.

Yeah, too bad that some of those children did not vote for ALPA, you could have fixed it with one call.
