Little confused about pay at flex. I was told that during training they pay you something like $1500 + and also perdiem on top of that per pay period, then after training is $195 per day soo, this means that your check varies per pay period depending on how many days you work or company assign you enough flying so your check averages the same amount per pay period

Something like that in training its based on you're yearly income (average number of days per month at daily rate times 12 divided by 52 equals your weekly training pay) plus per diem from day one. After training your paid at the daily rate. If you work 16 days a month each month your paycheck will be for 8 days every time plus any overtime you get. If you bid up and down days every month then your paycheck will change every month. Average days right now I think is 15.5

WTF? I'm making more at the crappy cargo company I fly for? I was thinking about applying at FJ, too. I don't mind the 4am phone calls and 16 hour days (get plenty of that crap now), but damn... a man's gotta eat.

I have family insurance and 401k taken out of my check as well. If you work 18 days per period you'll make over $50k, no problem, on first year pay.

Then there's overtime, working on your days off......

F.O.'s make the same money regardless of aircraft flown. The only way to make more is to fly more, do overtime, or luck into some nice international trip on the 300 or 604.

So you're working a month's worth of extra work days for less money than an NJA FO on the reserve schedule? Wow, that sucks.

(18x12=216 days @ NJA for $46,286)

Yes, it DOES all add up. From what I have read, FlexJet guys upgrade in 2 years while NJA guys will wait 5 +/- years to do so. Also, the lowest seniority pilot at FlexJet is flying the Learjet 45 while the lowest NJA guy is flying the Beechjet and Citation Ultra. Different strokes for different folks. Both seem like good places to work.

he only HAS to work 16 days a bid period, but asks for 2 more days (at the same time, some dude like me is asking for 14 instead of 16).

The 300 folks fly the most. I am in the lear 60 and I am pretty lazy.

and yeah, right now we do work more and get paid less. We do have the quicker upgrade going for us at the moments. But everybody knows thats comes in waves, just like the entire industry I guess

Look at it like this: while we do work more days and get paid a little less, there is a quiker upgrade. With that said; in the short run, say 6 to 7 years you will make more money at Flex.
So pilots who are retired, or going for an airline career Flex is probably a better place. Long term NJA may be better, but not by much.

Who freakin cares who is better! What makes a company is not the pay scale but the QOL and the people you work with. All NetJets can do is listen to the people who have left FlexJet for NetJets (which many were disgruntled employees so what they say doesnt count) and then make things up as they go along. Those of us here are happy and love our jobs just like you do. So instead of acting like you are Gods while we are peons lets working on making the Frac industry second to none ( No this does not mean we need a freakin union at Flex).
