i hope flex never gets a union

a good management/worker relationship is better than a union anyday

personally, mgt at Flex seems to be pretty good and I do not drink the company kool aid

so why would you want a union when you have a good relationship with management....i always thought if you did not like working.....

The big thing here is were not ALPA, probably will never will be, (never thought Flops and rta would merge either, so anything is possible). I really don't care about the regionals, it is wrong to compare any of the fractionals to any of the airlines. 2 totally different concepts, except they fly airplanes and have pilots that is it. So really i could care less about them and their problems. You and I are in the Fractional Airline industry. I care about my industry.

You ask about a truckers union, and how we will be different, I don't plan on taking a baseball bat to anybodys car, You? Any of your friends able to do that? I know none of mine will. There are things you do with your fist and things you do with your mind. What % of pilots are college grads, and do ya really think their gonna pick up a tire iron?

How did the Teamsters Start? I have no clue, I don't care. How did Vegas get its start, I bet you love to go there (unless your a bible banger), How many LBS of cocain built miami, you still go there. If you worked for a regional, I bet you biched about the pay scale, while you accepted that crapy pay, you didn't like it, but you accepted it, and you were ok with it.

Unless I'm wrong, this year at NJ's will be the most profitable in its history, why do you think that is? Who holds the keys to the company? Who is working with the company, for the benefit of the company?

"You pay us and we will protect you". Again yes unfortunatly your right. Welcome to the real world. Do you trust your company to take care of you? NJ pays 100% dues, 75% stays in house and 25% goes to the teamsters. If you go to Iraq and you need protection, bet your gonna pay for that protection. Whats the company Blackwater, or something like that. If you can't see that this is nothing more than an insurance policy, than you need to get your money back for your education. If you can't see that Unions are big business and out to make a profit, (funny our companys are big business just out to make a profit also, what a concept), again you need to get your money back.

"Strong Arm".....hmm I don't see it, Last time I checked there was no shovel, baseball bat, tire iron or grenade held over 67% of FLOPS pilots to vote in the 1108 (notice were part of the 1108, and not some truckers, garbage, police, football player, actors guild, ALPA or the aviation side of the Teamsters) Rest assured I will not be throwing eggs at your house or waiting with a base ball bat, nor anybody that I know. (Can't speek for "nomore")

"Represent you for 5 years for free"....Wow, hmmmm, I have a better idea, why... don't you pay my mortguage for 5 years, how about that? Do you not understand the concept, "the Teamsters, FLOPS, FLEX, Avant, CS, and yes even Trojen Brand Condems are in business to make MONEY. I am in the business to make money as well.

So did you understand business 101, everybody is here to make money.

Ok first off any union is any union they are all the same. It doesn't matter if what they call themselves, and oh yeah the teamsters are in the regionals. And it doesn't matter if we are in the fractional side or the regional side or even the major side we are all in the aviation industry.

Now why would you bring up breaking knee caps unless your thinking about doing it. The truckers union is the teamsters and if you don't know there history why are you giving them part of your pay that you should be taking home to your family. I know how Vegas got started and yes I go there, and yes I have fun there, but I don't have too give them my money they don't force it out of me. And you can keep Miami. As for regional pay, yes I bitched about it, but I also left it.

Your owners hold the key to the company, without them you don't have a job.

Its very interesting that you compare union protection to Blackwater protection, I have some friends that fly for them and they just as well kill you then talk to you. So thats your protection your talking about? I think your the one that might want to get his money back. And yes union are big business, that has out lived its usefulness. Only one company should make a profit off off my labor and thats the one that pays me.

Again you bring up weapons you might want to go have that checked out. You are part of the teamsters no matter how you want to justify it teamsters are teamsters. But then again you don't even know there history so I don't expect you to know much about them but what they want you to know.

Yeah represent us for free, thats not the same as paying your mortgage. Who's gonna pay my mortgage when the union supports your pilot group instead of mine and God forbid there is another attack?

And yes I am here to make money, but I want only one company making money off of me. But then again that is probably in business 102.

Quality of life issues, scheduling, and compensation. With all of the items on the table at NJ, Flex will need to do a little more than throw money at us. Dont get me wrong, I like working at Flex and have no intent to go anywhere else. I do think however, that we need to unify as a pilot group and focus our collective will toward the betterment of our work environment. With that said, it would be nice if this could be done without the implementation of a union. Things are going to get interesting for certain.

you make no sense!!!

YOU gave us a raise after the last Netjet contract; therefore, what are we supposed to say when it happens again???

You should probably thank the unionized pilots at NetJets and 1108 who worked to up their own wages and ended up getting you a raise through no effort of your own, even if it wasn't up to the NJA level.

Doyle - this isn't a slam on you but rather it's pointed at the people who criticize having a union.

I can't believe the CP came out and said that we're only mentioning sound bytes of what is good in the contract. This totally blows me away. Whatever is bad in their contract I would gladly deal with to GET THE GOOD! Step up to the plate this time FLEX!! I agree with you Jokerfuel, it's not just about money; they are going to have to give us money plus reduce the days and give us better first day rules etc...

And lets not kid ourselves here, we EARNED this raise. We just had our best year ever, I wonder if after our best year ever management would have given us a raise if this netjets thing hadn't come up??? If we are such "best in class", why did it take a netjets amendment for us to get a raise?? We deserve it on our own merit guys.

You are correct my friend!! remember your quality policy key points!!!!
one of them says -----We say what we do, Do what we say and we it can prove it

will see about that!

you would complain if you were making 500,000/year.....just leave flex if you do not like it so much and unions are so good

obviously this board is 99% union people

all they want is 3% of your pay....this is not the early 1900s and workers are capable of negotiating compensation themselves and besides I never understand why pilots bitch and bitch but never have enough guts to go work at another airline or do something else if it is so bad in fact I wish they would quit that way demand for pilots would increase and by pure economics compensation would increase

it gets so f..king old flying with people that bitch all the time about the company (that is all I ever heard when working for a 121 airline with a union)

there are only a handful of people here that really complain which is nice and apparently they all post on flightinfo

Yea but all that bichin on this board and your on here posting (90 posts)

Its time to send in another card. I understand they are only good for a year. I was never a union person. But I've been at flex for a few years and have waited for the cab to get things done. They haven't. The cab really tries, but management doesn't care about the pilots. Remember, the less they give us, the higher their bonus checks are. What I find truly disturbing is that the CP really believes the pilot group is happy. You can listen to the kool-aid drinkers here all you want, but when you talk to people on the road, its apparent that the majority of the pilots are not happy and have no faith in our current management.

I am not sure what you are talking about....most people at Flex are relatively happy.....I think the same 10% of pilots that are unhappy at Flex would not be unhappy anywhere

How about those that want a union go to nj and those that want to be professionals come to Flex Jet. And lets just leave it at that.

We don't want to be like you, or is it that we aren't allowed to have our own opinion.

Flexjet needs a union like yesterday. Floating rest, 16 hours on your last day, wages too low. All you are going to get out of this is a raise on May 1 2008. WOW, no improvement to quality of life. How long are they going to get away with floating rest? This has to stop at Flex, hopefully the FAA will do something soon.
