Hence my point. It isn't an equitable comparison. It is a matter of semantics and it doesn't really matter. Now what I'd like to see is if both planes (OK the GEX too) could do it on the same fuel load? Could a GV make it TEB-LAX on 13000# ?? Amusing idea anyway.

Reminds me of the flights British Airways did with the Concorde and a 747. The Concorde crossed the Atlantic twice (with over an hour on the ground in between) and still landed :20 min ahead of the 747. I'm sure the 747 crew thought it was great to have a hot meal and a bathroom too.

Kinda like saying can the C-X do it with 16 passengers AND a flight attendant on board?

Certified Ceiling:
Javelin: 45,000 ft
G-V/G-550: 51,000 ft
(Not sure we would even be able to see the little Javelin a full nautical mile below us... So much for climbing above us!)

Cruise Speed:
Javelin: Mach 0.90 (advertise but yet to be achieved)
G-550: Mach 0.87 (demonstrated daily)

Javelin: 1,220 NM (at Mach 0.80)

Believe me there are many airplanes I've flown that are not on my pro. Just because it's not listed doesn't mean I dont have time in it. If it makes you feel better, I'll update it for you.

I think you'll find that Gulfstream set that record on a demo flight in March 2000 in answer to an ad campaign Cessna launched the previous month claiming to have the fastest business jet. Prior to that the Citation X wasn't on Gulfstream's radar.

I just ran a flight plan fron TEB to VNY. Today I would burn 13,512 lbs going initially to FL470 then stepping up to FL490 at 61,000 lbs of aircraft weight.
