Sorry Dan, but maybe you don't run into many Easties out there in HNL. Almost everyone of them to a tee thinks they are way inferior to the Westies. It is almost comical. Bird has every right to feel the way he does, he and the others are being raped. They were legally awarded an SLI, and for years they haven't moved up, haven't gotten a pay raise, nothing, all thanks to a group of crybabies . I think your own opinion Dan would change if you actually met one of them and asked them their opinion about their own merger.

Regarding the sobbing story of your friend, every one has got a story to tell. Ever wonder how many furloughs would come back out west, if pilots didn't pick up open time?

Ah ha, got it now. It makes sense. Being a third lister, you don't fly with West Captains, only Easties, which have inflicted you with a Stockholm Sydrome. Lesson for all, it's not 1988 anymore- if you have no common sense since 9/11, (or will to live, I guess), or haven't got the memos that are increasing, don't just throw people up in the JS, check the sh/t out of them- get back to basics. And if you are jumpseating, have ALL your docs ready and even make the comment "here's everything, don't know about you, but our company and feds are really coming down on all that" Set the example, and make it easy for the captain to check everything-
