From another forum....somebody seems to think, Delta and UAL are not happy with the F9 purchase, and might be pressuring RAH???

OK, I'll see my 520 Aircraft with 3000 daily departures to your 51 Aircraft and 350 daily departures, apples and oranges chump.

I LUV this in your profile...............

Curr Position: CA

Enough said on that point. :smash:

Canyonblue,

I thought you had more class than that. I guess I was wrong. You don't seem to measure up with the guys I know at WN. Too bad.

Just a rumor

There was a rumor that F9 was short $30m on the deal. I find that one hard to fathom with CFOs poring over the details countless times.

I spoke to a senior SWAPA official recently and after the teleconference in which FAPA/SWAPA officials swapped offers and laid out their desires, the following day SWAPA sent 4 emails and one phone call requesting further discussions.

Each inquiry was replied to with a statement "we'll be back in touch". The only contact was one way from SWAPA to FAPA seeking further discussions. If FAPA didn't want to negotiate that is their choice but for those to speculate things couldn't have been worked out in such a short time; that we will never know because there was no serious effort on the part of FAPA to use the final day to attempt to find solutions.

Until Oct rolls around, no one knows how the plan will fall out. I suspect those furloughed will remain furlough and as a result of the overlap in route structures, there will be those added to that list over the next year. The same thing would've happened if SWA had been successful but those remaining will be making much less money than they would've been if they were on the SWA payroll. However, when called back, they would be coming to SWA for far more money and not to Republic/F9 rates.

I will look for the young F9 pilot in the lounge next time to get his honest appraisal of his perspective and those in a similar boat. With 400+ of their pilots with apps in at SWA, there appear to be quite a few of them that wanted to come to SWA. Never say never in this business.

Cheers,

FAPA chose to throw their lot in with RAH...it was a risky call and they will have to live with that. Not responding or even talking to SWAPA was a big mistake and a breach in etiquette. Few SWA pilots feel sympathetic now to their cause as a result of that action...I think they will come to regret their actions.

It's over. Let it go. You have not furthered the conversation at all with this "in- the- past" statement. Furthermore, your statement is riddled with inaccuracies.

No I think Daddy speaks the truth. Maybe he is like me, in the way I feel sorry for the F9 guys. I think the majority of the F9 pilot group was not being looked after. JMO ... I do wish the best for them however it turns out.

Funny, funny stuff in the papers. Looks like even odds that the hometown airline of Denver might become the hometown airline of Indianapolis. Or Milwaukee.

I hate to say it, because Frontier guys have never done wrong by me, but if you guys get uprooted to MKE and watch your precious DEN base vaporize, I have to admit that I'll make a toast to the correctness of my cynicism.

Republic is going to move you guys to the city that offers the biggest incentive. I hear the commute from Denver to MKE is a breeze.

If you think that the F9 group would have been better off with a SWA purchase I would say that you may be right. In fact I may even agree with you. However, my point is that Daddy's statement was not factually correct and his inaccurate statement does nothing to further the conversation. Like many posts on FI, his statement regurgitates misinformation and we get nowhere.
