Whoever created this thread is a retard! Frontier is not closing shop. Next time do your homework before spreading BS rumors around.

It's a fact. The lawyer have been circling the wagon for weeks now in headquarters. Good luck to all, ch. 7 sux but at least there are plenty of regional jobs out there!

Really? You can justify crossing any pilot picket line? That sure says a lot about you. And besides, who are you trying to kid? Everyone knows that a scab-wannabe like you would cross any picket line you can find.

Besides, you don't know diddly-dick about our union, so you're not really pointing out anything. And are you seriously pushing ALPA as a better choice? All pilots on this forum do is bitch about ALPA, and how their complicated politics screwed their particular group over in favor of another. At least we know that our union, and our dues money, works specifically and only for our interests, unlike being part of a national organization with competing, and often contradicting, needs and interests.

Back to your hole, dumbass. We'll let you know if and when there's ever a picket line put up that you can cross. 'Kay?

Bubba

At least an ALPA pilot would have enough self-esteem not to wait for an
airline to have a strike vote and then rush in to take pilot Captain seats and
domiciles.

If you're not a Scab, it's by a technicality only!

Frontier = Western Pacific.

Should have died long ago! Ahhhh Denver politics

Hey, look at you--attempting to make the same ignorant argument you did last page on this thread. Once again, demonstrating that you don't know diddly-dick about unionism in general, or scabs in particular (or for that matter, even very much about how the deal between our respective companies and unions actually went down). I don't know if this occurred to you or not, but just repeating the same stupid thing over and over, doesn't make it any more true.

Why don't you actually learn something about unions and industry, so that you don't look so much like a friggin' idiot when you post? Just a thought.

You sound just like the Eastern and Continental guys that keep trying
to justify, and rationalize taking jobs that they didn't earn.

Always looking for a short cut, rather than paying your dues and upgrading
to Captain when you can hold it by your rightfully earned seniority.

It probably hasn't occurred to you yet why other crew members avoid you.

Karma would probably see your airline getting bought, and you getting stapled.

It's ironic that some people that quote "The Golden Rule," have absolutely
no idea what it really means!

All I can say to that is your a moron!

You know that Airtran had actual scabs right?
Those that actually crossed a picket line while their airline was on strike. (you know for illiterate morons that don't know the meaning and throw it around with reckless abandonment well that is the definition of a scab).

Your reading skills are terrible, and you're gonna have to learn to slow
down and try to comprehend. And please, pay your dues and don't take
shortcuts at the expense of your fellow pilots.

Again, what "jobs" did I take that I "didn't earn"? I was a captain before the acquisition was even announced. It actually seems like people like you were trying to do exactly that. And to explain what -I- mean, I mean a SWA captain seat. I'm still waiting for you to explain why you think that 5 years old AirTran service "earned" you a Southwest captain seat, when it took about 10 years of Southwest service (at the time the SLI was being negotiated) to earn that same Southwest captain seat. Explain that, and then maybe you can bitch. But somehow I bet you'll avoid trying to rationalize that in a post; you guys always do.

"Looking for a short cut"? It seems to me that it's you looking for a "short cut." By that, I mean getting hired by a smaller, less-established, cheaper, and shakier financially carrier, upgrading fast (even helped by people leaving for bigger and better jobs, including SWA), and then expecting that somehow that alone "earned" you a captain seat at a different carrier (one that was bigger, stronger, paid much better, and was considered more desirable of a job). Is that what you mean by a "short cut"? 'Cause that's how -I- see it.

It probably hasn't occurred to you yet why other crew members avoid you.

Ha! Nobody avoids me; I'm the life of the party. But I'd bet that everyone avoids a guy who continues to whine like a bitch, literally years after an argument (the SLI, in this case) was decided: "I didn't get what I think I deserve! That means you're all scabs!!"

Hopefully you aren't like that in real life.

Karma would probably see your airline getting bought, and you getting stapled.

I'm pretty sure you don't understand what "karma" is.

It's ironic that some people that quote "The Golden Rule," have absolutely
no idea what it really means!

Here, I actually agree with you. However, you don't seem to get that it's you that we're talking about.

Bubba, those boys and girls at AirTran who crossed were not scabs. The people in the lines were predominately scabs, PATCO certainly thought so. And ALPA was so sold out in the 80's that it had no real authority left and could never risk another strike at a major. Neither does SWAPA. But you feel free to test the theory.

Wow, shocker. Once again, Maru is babbling about stuff he knows absolutely nothing about. I never said that anyone ever became a scab while at AirTran. Nobody did. Especially with regard to crossing PATCO's line....mainly since AirTran didn't even exist then. Jesus, dude, pick up a history book once in a while, wouldja'? You'd look less stupid.

In fact, -I- didn't say anyone was a scab; someone else mentioned that AirTran (formerly named ValueJet) was started up with pilots who were primarily scabs from the Eastern strike of '89. All I said was that calling someone a scab, just because they do something that you don't like, is stupid, and a misuse and cheapening of the word. That's why I never actually called you a scab, since, to the best of my knowledge, you never actually crossed a legal strike picket line. You're only a wannabe-scab, since you've bragged that you would cross one. See the difference?--you're still a dickhead; you're just not an actual scab.

At least, not yet.

most of these kids' better part was running down their mom's leg when Eastern struck...but yah loads of Eastern scabs at ValuJet...

Okay, I'm not one of those who thinks F9 is on their way out, but can anyone confirm/deny a rumor I recently heard about F9 being down to 5 gates in DEN by end of this year?

5 or 7...den is a fast shrinking base. it will never be what it was in the past

SWAPA does not have the balls to strike!

They won't even do informational picketing!

Actually, informational picketing was setup and ready to go, with a friggin' ton of eager volunteers. The response to the Strike Preparedness Committee's call was overwhelming. Then they called it off at the last minute, due to sudden and significant movement by the company toward our position. The union believes that the company is starting to realize that the pilots are serious and united about getting a good contract. Well that, and the fact the the F/As overwhelmingly rejected their TA (nearly 90% voting, with 86% of them voting no). The union now believes that a good TA can be had sooner rather than later, and called off the picketing as a sign of good faith.

However, those volunteer picketers are still on standby, and still ready to go when called, if the negotiating progress doesn't continue.

On the other hand, if you just want to bash SWAPA, then by all means knock yourself out.
