I really do hope that it works out for XJT, and I am sure their product is great, but how many customers will pay more for a better product when it comes to air travel? If XJT is $300 to go from San Diego to Kansas City, and AA is 299 to go SAN-DFW-MCI then who will get the customer? I think the general public only cares about price.

If you check the prices you will see that the prices are comparable and its non-stop.
 
I don't know why so many of you bottom-feeders are so excited about XJT tanking. I think they have as good a chance as any company (probably better) and y'all should be hoping they make it, since their contract is leading the pack in regionals. XJT prospering helps everyone.

Having worked there, the toughest part of deciding to leave was the fact that they had such a resonsible and ethical management group.

BTW I would much rather be sitting in an A seat on an RJ reading a book than be squished in the middle on a narrow body even if I can watch "Casino Royale" for the 3rd time this month while enjoying a plastic cheeseburger. :)
 
I think I may have been misunderstood... I do not believe xjt is perfect; however, I believe in the product, personally do everything to help the company, and am proud of the branded flying. Also, this is a discussion of ExpressJet branded flying and not the contractual flying... Many people take that attitude with XJT pilots and I can see where they are coming from, but we are just happy with our company and work very hard to make it great. CHQ is a great company as well and I would have been honored to work for them, but the management at XJT is superior in my opinion.

You sound just like we did at Indy right up to the last day. I know everyone thinks we were fools to do what we did but I would not have changed one thing at all. The contract UAL wanted us to sign wasnt even worth wiping your ass with. I hated we went out of business but those 18 months were the best time I have ever had flying a plane.
I really do hope that you guys change everyones mind and do make it all work with Jungle Jets.
 
Just a random comment from a customer who flew on XJT branded this past week. This is taken from an business traveler's blog site:

"Loved the trip the on time performance is great you can set your watch to this airline. The staff is all excellent! Small plane but they have A LOT of perks that definitely outweigh it! I cant wait to do it again!!! XM radio, REAL Food, Smiling personnel!!"

Time will tell...........
 
If the seats are more comfortable than they traditionally have been, with the price being right, plus I save time for my multi-million dollar deal, then I would gladly fly on anything that provides it.

Business people especially, don't mind the size of the aircraft. They are more discriminating to the comforts and conviniences that that particular carrier can provide. If size of equipment was really an overriding issue, corporate departments would not exist.

People care about price, schedule, immidiate surrounding comforts, and service. A citation can provide all these things when it's done right.

Business people care about quality, on-time and frequent flyer miles. Period.

You think they care about saving a hundred bucks to do a "multi-million dollar" deal.

Sorry, but your logic is way off here.

The bad thing about flying journalists to and fro is that when something goes wrong, they tend to amuse themselves by taking notes. Sadly, JetBlue does not yet have a policy prohibiting pens and paper from their flights. From the Boston Herald:
A passenger, talking loudly into his cellphone, says, "I went out of my way to fly JetBlue," he said, "and instead I'm on some Express Jet. It's a bait and switch."
Yes, the oldest of sales schemes. Instead of the expansive Airbus 320 with legroom and TVs, JetBlue put its Dulles-to-Logan passengers on a Continental Express Jet, a flying partner. The switcheroo would have been a minor irritation given the brevity of the flight had the Express Jet not run low on fuel circling over Boston, forcing it to land at T.F. Green.


The obvious solution to this problem is to ban journalism so these note-takers can no longer afford to fly. —MEGHANN MARCO

Well if they could save 2 hours or more on travel time they might....time is money.
