LGA-ORD / JFK-ORD

On second thought, meh. 1st and 3rd most populous cities in the country, let the RJ pukes handle it. Who cares what our customers think.

RJ pukes? Fukc off dude. As$holes
like you are the problem with this profession. I'm sure you were born in the left seat of a 777.

6 yr deal

19% DOS
2.9% each year
That's 33.5% after 6 yrs.

Scope:
76 seat max
Remove "widebody" clause
For every 1 new mainline A/C = 1 new DCI 76 seat A/C

Will see how close I got it.....

I don't know about your guess. The DOS % should be about right, but the length of the contract is too long, and I would guess the company would want more 76 seaters, but 1 for every new mainline plane won't do. I would guess they would get a limited number for dumping 50 seaters, like 1 76 seater for every 3 they dump. They want to dump them, they have said so. If the 717s or A319 rumor is true, then there could be a lot of new planes, but the problem is in the last agreement there was a clause for 3 76 seaters for every new mainline plane over a certain number (I don't think we got there), but when a mainline plane was parked (like most of the DC9s), NONE OF THE RJs were parked. Who the heck didn't figure that out? If mainline planes are parked, so should RJs. That better be in the upcoming TA.

Bye Bye---General Lee

I'm thinking he was suggesting a more or less re fleeting of the RJ population with 900s, when delta comes to a number on the amount of RJs in th DCI system they would allow most of them to be 76 seaters..

They are diluting the Delta brand with a dozen dci carriers. If they want the jets, bring them to Delta and hire all the regional pilots you need to staff properly.

I don't see how 19% DOS is acceptable. It shouldn't take six years to match SW on narrow bodies.

No, I mean 19% on date of signing (let's say July 1st), then more Jan 1st, (the originally ammendable date), and then more the next 2 years. How about 19% DOS, then 6%, 6%, and 6%? Sounds better. There had better be a nice raise, we gave enough at the office already. And the rest of the contract, including scope, better be good too. It seems like the company wants to do something fast, and that should mean something to our negotiators. Fingers crossed! I bet the DPA guys are getting excited....

And...
NO. More. RJs.
I spent seven years at regionals. I'm not wishing that (or more) on anybody.

Now that is what I am talking about! I liked both of your comments. The only regional pilots who want to stay at a regional are mostly the top 10-15% and a select few who are attached to the base they currently live in (I also suspect many of those have a spouse who makes $$$$$$). The rest of us don't want scope given for our goal was the same as yours-to work at a major.

That being said when I am paying a set fee on a contract, and it is not due for months from now. I do not ask to renegotiate early just so I can pay more for my new contract without getting something for what I am paying for. So I must wonder like the rest of you-what does Delta want that would make them give you so much so early?

I am at a sinking ship, the SS Pinnacle that steered itself into a iceberg and is sinking fast. The faster all the Majors can figure out their destiny and stop merging and start hiring will be the best lifeboat for us all.

From Michael Boyd's morning HotFlash (aviationplanning.com)
.....apparently he has some insight into the TA.

"That brings us to a new reality: It's becoming more and more obvious that it will be mainline airlines that fly these new aircraft fleets <small jets>. There are two clear indications. The first is what US Airways has reportedly discussed with American's pilot's union. The second - and more immediately concrete - is the tentative agreement between Delta and ALPA. Both include aircraft in the E-190 size category, and in the case of Delta, it even mentions the CRJ-900."

Some pivotal times it appears here once again for the domestic airline industry.

We shall see.....
