oh yea I can see with one of your own new guys, so tickled pink to be working at CS hes going to move in with the wifes parents.

Rules are rules. Do not take the job.

They are pretty strict on the two hour rule, but the aaa time will be accepted. The two hours has nothing to do with "getting to airport quick", there is no requirement for how soon you must get to the airport when your called for an assignment at home, four hours is what most people use as a min. Sometimes they will give you six months to locate within the two hours, depending on your circumstances. It'll come up in your interview, just tell them what your planning, no big deal. cheers.

I was based in BOS for 5 years with American Eagle and did the exact drive for two of those years and the only time it ever came close to two hours was in the winter. There is no "mass state driver adjustment factor" on any of these websites :) Also, the inlaw thing is a temporary thing until I can buy a new house. Thanks for most of the replies. good luck to all.

Later

Hey Mr bo. How much do you pay for your crew food? going to break 50k 1st year pay on the 7n7. And I kept about 75-90 % of my per diem without even trying. Do you guys pay for your health, vision, or dental? yeah im sure nj sucks compared to cs. What is ur pay after 10 years anyway?

If we chose to buy a crew meal, it will cost us $10. I've been here over 2 years and only had to resort to the crew meal twice. We are normally scheduled during the day with enough time to go out and get something to eat. Our first year people can also break $50k by working a day of overtime a month and by putting away some per diem. Yes, we pay for part of our healthcare, but CS pays for most of it. Keep in mind that we don't pay any union dues, so that is a wash. Our pay scale is a little foggy at year 10 because as I understand, our pay structure is going to be re-evaluated in about 5 years or so. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask!
Have a GREAT day!!

Just wondering Mr. H BO

why are you so negative about nja? All of the cs guys i have talked to have been really cool. Both companys lead the industry in pay, why do you bag on nja so much?

Of coures they'll call, they are desperate to find recruits that will be based out of where management says and who are willing to wait 5+ years for an upgrade. I would think that min qualifications would be a pulse.

50k w/out my per diem, so i dont think that is a wash. How much of your per diem do you spend on the road? I gone several tours without spending a dime. Although now I tend to buy myself at least two nice hot dinners a week. One can only eat so much out of a box.

I c u guys only get 50% match up to 6% on ur 401k. That just makes nja 50% match to 15% seem like cr@p doesn't it. So lets work the math together. 6% of 91k is 5460 so cs will add 2730 so at nj 15% of 90k is 13500, nja will add 6750. I think my union dues are worth the extra 4k a year. I know cs pays so much more than nj, what do you do with all that extra money. I see 5th ca at base sal @ cs is 91k @ nja its 90k. What do you do with the extra 83 dollars per month? How is your vacation at year 10? Do you get min of 12 weeks off? You can take your extra base pay, I'll take a longer vacation anyday.

Its not perfect or close to it at nja, but I get two weekends off every month and have every holiday off except new years and will have 3 weeks off for vacation, its my first year and I never been at home so much. So I can't complain too much.

I sure its a great over at cs, but how do u really know what is it like at nj?

Its seems to me the pay is very close. If anything if u factor base+401k+per diem+vacation-union dues. NJA is ahead.

Hope you have a great day as well.

***Because it's a blast watching the NJ guys getting their panties in a bind...it's all in fun.

***If you want to live on crew meals for the entire week, that's up to you. It's just not my bag, baby, yea.

***Our 401K is being reworked as we speak, watch for a update. Remember, we are alot younger of a company that NJ. We are learning alot from your mistakes.

***Good for you that you feel that way, this way you won't have to second guess the decision you made to work at NJ.

Hope you have a great day as well.

***Thank You.

Kman......The HbO man still thinks that his merrit got him the raise. After all he is gods gift to aviation. We all can learn from HbO man.

Oh and hava great day

Why such a big riff between NJ and CS? Sounds like the military--the best unit you were a part of is the one you are with now, and the worst one was the one you just left? People that work for Coke can't even think about drinking Pepsi? Is it that sort of thing?

Actually there isn't. Pretty much every CS guy that I've met on the road has been very cool. I have friends and acquaintances at CS, I've done recurrent with CS guys as well. On more that one occasion I've gone out for drinks and dinner with CS crews. What you see on this board is basically one person that goes out of their way to stir the pot. The truth is that the vast majority of CS and QS pilots get along just fine.

Cav, you are correct. People need to lighten up. It's all in fun!

How does one go on the raod for even a day let alone 2 weeks and not spend a dime of per diem? Did you not eat anything other than the breakfast at the hotel? Or does NJA/CS provide food and per diem?

NJA provides food and perdiem

99.99999 percent of the time i skip breakfast at the hotel and have nj order the bfast for me. I rather sleep than eat. Thats just me.

I probably spend my perdiem once or twice on the road a week. I like to go out too I'm just too full by the time i get to the hotel.

otherwise, no job for you !!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got done with indoc and less than half the class met those criteria. They really hire a mix of ages and experience levels.

Wow you mean CS is so great that they pay you just enough to move in with your inlaws. Nice

Think about it. If he is going to be on the road for half the time, why pay for place that you'll only see every other week unless you really need it? It is a good way to save money. I'd consider it, but my wife wasn't crazy about the idea.
