CS 2 hour rule

I was wondering how strict CS was with the 2 hour rule...

If I get the job at CS I was planning to move in with the inlaws initially. I did a check on their address and...

It is 2 hours and 8 minutes according to mapquest
2 hours and 7 minutes according to google
2 hours and 1 minute according to yahoo.

Additionally it is 1 hour and 59 minutes from the airport back to their house according to Yahoo.

I was based in BOS as an FO with a regional a few years ago and I did this drive numerous times and it never took me longer than 1 hour and 30 minutes even with traffic. I have a feeling the traffic assumptions these sites use are based on mid-day...not on early morning driving that it would be if you were trying to make the first flight out of your base.

on a seperate subject - I am currently not residing within 2 hours of a CS domicile, is this going to hold me up getting hired or can I start and then move once I complete training.

AAA.com puts the time at 1 hour and 59 minutes TO BOS. Does this mean I'm all good or are they going to run their own check on their own software/site.

From what I know, any map program that produces a drive of 120 minutes or less will be accepted. I would say AAA would be ok.

From my experience most of those mapping sites' times are longer than what it really takes. Just to be sure I'd actually go drive it. I dont know what CS policy is, but I'd assume they're not going to care what aaa.com website says, all they care about is do you get there within 2 hours.

Also, what if traffic is bad, if it takes you 1:55 normally, then you'll probably end up late.

I don't know how much you know about CS, but they only accept the times from a mapping program. I wouldn't waste my time driving it. I guess if the hiring guys had personal experiance with a certain drive they may accept it but most of the time, the mapping program is used.

I have know pretty much nothing about CS. I didn't know they operated that way.

So you have something against female pilots that have the same ratings, hours, and expereince as you? I guess they belong in the kitchen making men dinner? Men made it hard enough for women to have the "right" to become pilots in the first place, and even today they have to put up with comments like this. If they catch a break then so be it. The next time a company hires a woman and the first flight out she crashes the plane and the NTSb finds "she was pretty" as a contributing factor let me know. Until then, keep your sexist comments to yourself.
