Thanks Yall....By the way how come we don't question one another more on this board on systems related stuff instead the usual bitchin' and moaning of the day (unions, contracts, etc..)?

I think it would make for a much more interesting site....ah well no one cares IMHO....guess I'm just in a systems frame of mind right Now...Thanks Again!

Because we have better things to do with our time than talk systems.

Don't try to bring us in with you.

Go to the A&P section. The will talk with you all day.

Another reason the 14th stage valves fail open is for the thrust reversers. Even with a failed valve the thrust reversers would still be available for use.

Bonus question ... what message do you get when the valve fails and when would you get it?

Dork Alert! 12 0'clock.

A Master warning triple Chime, "Bleed Air Duct" Aural Alert, w/ a red 14th Bleed Warning messege.

hey i want to jump into this dorkfest......

what happens when there is a fault in ac bus 1??

You know what the indications are you forgot to retract the spoilers after being slam-dunked on approach?

The airplane says "You wanna stow the boards there now, eh?"

Yes, it does. With an amber "FLT SPOILERS DEPLOYED" message.

Glad to see you wouldn't let a simple Canada joke stand in the way of the truth...

Well, you gotta understand, there may be a newbie reading the thread and he might actually expect the airplane to start saying all that stuff about the boards. Plus, shouldn't it be with a Quebecoir accent?

Hey you f-i-i-ilthy american pig pilo-o-t, stowe those boards before you crash yer pretty piece of gallic engineer-ing!

Why did you still answer it? To show all how smart you are? DORK!

If you were more of a dork yourself, you'd have realized that their posts were typed at practically the same minute so there was no way the second poster could have realized that someone else posted an identical response.

Sure it is. The bus fault kicks the onside gen, and the little bus tie light thingy turns on to tell you it didn't connect to the offside gen, therefore it's isolated.

The little bus tie light thingy you're referring to is the auto transfer switchlight and the key word you missed is supposed to light up and inhibit the transfer. It may or may not do that, depending on the way the bus failed. If it doesn't, press the switchlight manually, then manually kick off the gen. Don't wait for it to light up, lest the faulty bus kick off the other gen(s) and that noisy little thingy that pops out from the right side of the nose rears its ugly head.
