The little bus tie light thingy you're referring to is the auto transfer switchlight and the key word you missed is supposed to light up and inhibit the transfer. It may or may not do that, depending on the way the bus failed. If it doesn't, press the switchlight manually, then manually kick off the gen. Don't wait for it to light up, lest the faulty bus kick off the other gen(s) and that noisy little thingy that pops out from the right side of the nose rears its ugly head.

It is an automatic function. You must manually isolate it if it dosen't do it itself.

How about the coffee maker when it starts leaking water and not making coffee. Is there a valve behind the containers that can be turned off?
