Brick, I for one respect your opinion and actually agree wholly with it. You're a humble and tolerant person who only seeks to help out the pilot community positively. A lot of folks on FI are true curmudgeons and simply cant understand your helpful message. It's absolutely unacceptable the behavior you describe and I have quietly felt this way as well. I refrain from saying much of it, because frankly, I dont have the nerve you clearly do to exact some change in professional standards.

I hope one day you'll get to hand-fly a Boeing or Airbus, because frankly, you deserve it. Youre a true professional and shouldn't be stuck flying commuter aircraft laden with rif-raf pilot types.

Best,

J.O.

How cute. I hope one day "you get to fly by wire the gay little Airbus". I think I will go listen to some Lawrence Welk now.

If you expect people to act professional then u should pay them like a professional. Treat pilots with respect as an important or actually THE most important employee. The Mickie D's double off the value menu is what most can afford and the 6 leg day with 10 mins to slam down said mc double is better than starving. Maybe u should inquire as to the passengers attire as well, daisy dukes on a 300lb woman is more offensive than eating said hamburger!!!! Or maybe charge said passenger $5 more so everyone can afford to live to your expectations!!!!

Ladies, gentlemen; I am not a a witch hunt or a journey to improve my sense of self worth or prize my airline as a place of superior professionalism or elitist membership. I am humbly passing word that these two operations have epic proportions of attitude problems that have earned them reputations among the industry.

As a tolerant person I take pride in my profession. I rarely if ever am one to point a finger or shake a stick at a person who is suffering from self identifying or finding contentment in their life. But when their attitude injects itself into the workplace and results in the contamination of the operation by disrespect of their co-workers/industry counterparts, enough is enough. Grow up.

Most of us have been in this industry now long enough to weather the "new hire arrogance." It is time to grow up. More important act like aviation professionals. Courtesy and professionalism yields an amazing amount of respect and productivity and apparently it was lost in training or youth someone along their career. If they or you are content with maintaining their reputations of being jerks, punks and children then so be it. They've earned it. Good luck employing the attitude in your career and see what reward and respect from their counterparts it brings. But don't expect others to tolerate it.

Way too much Internet porn to be seen for a thread like this.

The worst he has on Lakers is that they might say "CYAAAAA" on the radio?

CYAAAAA!

To all the professional grammar cops and radio critics, flash back a few years, remember when you were in high school, and being stuffed into lockers with alarming regularity? That was as mostly done by the guys with huge schlongs, who couldn't bother listening to some stupid English teacher who was cockblocking his shot at deflowering Suzy "the cheerleader" well guess what? We are here and still stuffing you nerds into the locker, banging the hottest F/As, misspelling mistalking, and all the while still senior to you. So run back up to your room and rub one out to HBO, and then come here and correct my grammar, sorry but there are a twin F/As at SKYW and they are hot, wonder if they wanna make a me samwich?
Boogereaterz!

To all the people that post huge paragraphs on internet forums, get a hobby for f*** sake.

This is a hobby!!!! It cost $10 for life and you get both entertainment value as well as comic release from Some folks. It's either this or youporn and I'm visiting the folks right now and porn would be a little awkward!!!!

Its much easier and more entertaining to drink your beer on F.I. than actually sit next to some of you folks, which I think would be quite awkward to have the conversations that transpire over here.

At least I have a real tie.

Oh! Oh! Oh! ...and I shave with a straight razor!

Where's your God now?

Wow, this was actually a good thread. It made me think, laugh and drink! Kudos guys!

Be safe and have a good weekend fellas!

Guys, stop feeding the troll. He likes to use his thesaurus and look up lots of big words to make himself sound smart. He does it on the company pilot boards, too. This industry has enough issues without us shredding each other over rediculous generalizations.

It's "rididculous".

It's impossible to "dicule" something.. Let alone do it twice.

whats wrong with feeding the trolls... more entertaining than wet blankets like yourself.

Must be Skywest

For the record, you guys are notorious throughout the industry for not allowing the hotel vans to wait on other crews.

That's pretty low.
Don't feel bad, they have left other Skywest crews as well, doosches don't discriminate.

Because this is not a competitive or combative "my airline is better than yours" commentary. It is commentary that says please act professional.

You want them to act professionally but you come on here with this childlike rant. Get over yourself.

I see chumps all over the place with pants sagging, sporting their uniforms like a bunch of bro-dudes. They're adults, even if they don't act like it, and there's nothing any of you fashion police can do to change them.

Professionalism is not just about the superficial things, but yes, it is good to have a clean uniform and all. Not being mean or cocky is more important. Flying safe is the most important part of professionalism. I bet Captain Van Zanten looked very sharp right up until he accidentally killed himself and more than 500 other people. The best way to promote professionalism is to be professional yourself in a way that other pilots will like working with you, and in that way they will associate your clean uniform and efficient radio usage as the way the good guys are. If you are the consistently primp and proper, but annoying irrational a-hole then the superficial good things you do will be associated with your a-hole attitude by the new guys.

Dress sharp, fly safe, have fun, use humor, be kind, stand up for your FAs when needed, and just generally don't be an ass and you will affect the new guys and the overall culture in a good way.

Bricktop, you sound very familiar. Did you by any chance do time in a Nigerian prison, Enugu specifically, between 2003 and 2005?

8. Not introducing yourselves to offline carrier crews on jump seat or non-revenue flights: Who cares. Sit down and shut up. I am busy dealing with the slovenly dressed, arrogant, verbally abusive, headphone wearing dolt sitting next to me in the cockpit, who is stuffing a giant cheeseburger in his face in front of the passengers...

I almost did a spit take on my keyboard when I read this, nice work!
