True, but AWA didn't buy us. We were bought as was AWA. So someone bought BOTH of us and combined us because we BOTH had value in this merger. If AAA had no value, why do it? Why not just take all the money and invest it in AWA alone?

Actually that is not true. The surviving holding company is AWA. It assumed the name US AIRWAYS after the PURCHASE. Other companies such GE cap. Airbus and others were INVESTERS.

AWA is listed as a subsidiary of USAirways Group in the most recent SEC filing.

But the bigger question is, what does it matter? In another year this will all be a mute point.

I guess all pilots have to establish some sort of a pecking order. It's not about establishing who is king of the hill, but that we all live like Kings on a hill with the best contract in the business.

Just a point of fact Bubba Dog but research the previous name for USAirways Group and you will see it was America West Airlines Holdings inc. The previous company using that name ceased to exist after the merger.

Does this this matter to you and i and how the seniority list is integrated? No, porbably you and I both will not be happy with the outcome. Such is our industry. The one fact is that although we currently work for seperate companies under the same holding company, in a year we wont. And in that time I hope we can stop fighting eachother and find the strengh to get a good combined contract and have some fun flying together.

Sounds like a great idea!

See reply to PHXFLYR above...

Nice to see you've been talking to yourself while I've been gone. As far as 50/50, that's right fair and equitable to you is a stable to the bottom. Look at Section II.B.3 & 4. One more case of ignoring the agreement. Oh, never mind reading it. You're going to ignore it anyways.

I often talk to myself and probably look a lot like your avitar doing it... :)

Section 2.B 3 & 4 talk about seperate operations. Are you saying an AAA crew has flown an AWA aircraft? or vice-versa?? I don't think that has happened...

e) “The current and announced flying, as of the effective date of this agreement, between points west of the Mississippi River and the State of Hawaii will be flown by America West pilots.”

The Hawaii flying wouldn't have made it to arbitration if it wasn't based on something.

Oh, if I don't respond for awhile, don't think I'm ignoring you. It's because I have to go fly around in your 737(west of the Mississippi).
