I'm not so sure. I know that when their CL604 comes in, armed security is out at the airport, they got the Challenger's N number blocked, and there is certainly no obvious signs that it's owned by Microsoft. So I really doubt that Microsoft would put MS on it's N number. Besides when did Microsoft change its color to green?

Seriously, a search on the serial number in A.net shows the airplane in that paint job when it was owned by Kingdom Holdings (the MidEast company that previously owned it). They just painted out the "Kingdom" logo.

Appropriate, though, isn't it?

When I was a doorman at a fancy hotel (mid-1990's), Bill Gates used to drive in with his wife in a rented Lincoln Towncar. His nanny would follow in another Towncar with his kid strapped in the back seat. No security!!! This was a hotel frequented by President Clinton, the Dalai Lama and every other high-profile person you could imagine. They all had gobs of security. Not Bill. Always seemed kind of strange.

I've also seen Mr. and Mrs. Gates walking along the beach in Santa Barbara a few times. Again, no security.

I read somewhere once where his wife prefers to fly in the Global. Bill Gates has always prefered the Challenger.

Paul Allen is the one with the 757 (pair of them I believe).
