"The War Lover" - Steve McQueen That thing does have some great combat scenes of B-17s.

I liked "Iron Eagle" but I wouldn't categorize it with any of the above movies. It was just "kill the bad guy" fun and I love those distractions from time to time.

On Wings of Eagles

John Wayne. About the developement of naval and army aviation between the wars. Lots of Thompson Trophy race stuff as well, and some great fights in the O'Club! Maurene O'Hara plays the Duke's wife. Can't believe no one else has mentined this one.

SAC is good.

I liked "Bombers B-52" with Karl Malden. Really cool.

"Air Force" with Gig Young and "Wild Blue Yonder" about the B+29 were also great.

"Fandango" was hysterical. "Wings of Eagles" definitely good...

Another great flick with limited aviation is "Secondhand Lions" with Michael Cane and Robert Duvall. These guys were in "Battle of Britain" and "The Great Santini" both aviation flicks. Santini is pretty intense...
