ASA PBS Passes

Not so sure I agree in Feb, with higher credit pairings I worked the same four 4 days, and got 90 hrs credit. With PBS, I had more flexibility to choose the pairings I desired and the specific days I wanted to work.

Now, with crappy pairings................

Wrong. We all win with PBS. We get the luxury of keeping our jobs, and proving to Jerry that we are willing to play ball. Management gets to bid for more work since we look more competitive.

WE would have been the only losers if we had voted this down. Jerry would just use that as proof that we aren't a good group of pilots to keep around, and shrink us one by one.

Like I said, you will work more for less. You may be happy to adjust your schedule but it is a pay cut. Compare your 2010 W2 with 2011 next January then back out your contract and anniversary pay raise and see how much of a pay cut you took. You will be shocked, or by now maybe you have figured that out.

Why does it matter if the bid close was delayed, to allow pilots who were not allowed to bid to put their bid in?

The awards are still coming out on time. Have you been harmed?

From what I have heard, at Xpress Jet, their bids come out a different time every month, and I am guessing the awards date is a moving target also? Is that true?

BS---One month does not make a year. I remember a few months last year under line bidding when most CR2 pilots were getting guarantee or less. How long have you been here? They have always manipulated pairing value to either spread out the available flying or to dump more flying on the pilot group when they didn't have enough pilots for the work?

PBS had nothing to do with that? It's a way to build lines.

Awards come out the same day as bid closing, always within 2 or 3 hours. The bids have a tentative date they are to be published but that may change based on the change in block hours. There is a contractual minimum amount of time for the bids to be open, I think it's 5 days.

The company and the PWG failed to pre-explain what ETB was before the bids opened. Also, those with ETB failed to take the initiative to figure out what the pre-assigned ETB meant. I'm sure you read the memo that came out hours before the bids closed detailing the issue. Your awards still come out on time. You can calm down now.

I'm actually making more with PBS. Now when I stretch 1 week of vacation into 5 weeks I still make 75 hours...under the old system I was getting hit with MMG and losing 20-25 hours. I love PBS...

Im making on good months $1000 more under PBS than I would have made with line bidding due to being able to hold a line vs reserve. Wallow in your own misery cackel, cuz its a party on my side of the fence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
