I didn't go looking for anything, but when preflighting an ATR with a FAA guy walking around with me, how hard do you think I have to look to find something. Two airplanes and 7 hours later the first day of my four day was canceled and the second one is only a deadhead.

There ya go! Reason to do a thorough preflight/walk-around. You never know when the Feds will show up. If you passed up something (thinking you're helping the old company), and then the Fed walks behind you and catches it, you could be violated, along with the company. Fly safe, get ya some nourishment.
