Next time your shopping for shampoo or laundry soap etc, check the small print, I'll bet you see the name Unilever on there which again is a major European company. The World Trade Center was Japanese and I can go on and on and on.

And what is your point? Is this supposed to make me find love in my heart for all of these so called foreign investors? What you describe is the result of a complete failure of our economic policy which is only concerned about big business, and company portfolios.

Everything we buy in the USA has a label that says...
Made in "insert any 2 bit country". It's not because we can't do it ourselves, it's because corporate America can watch their profits soar while we get 2nd rate products to buy.

Be carefull with what you say and wish for, it might come true. If all foreign investors would withdraw from the US, the US would be bankrupt!

Lets see. How about poor pathetic little USA who you feel is so dependent upon other nations, decides to bring back all of the industry it has outsourced for well over 50 years. First off, citizens of the USA would finally be able to see "Made in the USA" marks once again. Many of us would be seeing those words for the first time. Sure, there would be hardships as we transitioned our economy back to a domestic based economy, but in the long run we would be far better off.

When Israel and Lebanon started throwing their toys at one another like a couple 2 year olds, who is immediately asked to come up with a plan to end it? You guessed it the good ole USA.

I wouldn't P!SS foreigners off too much as we will be in a world of hurt.

Does anyone know if ASA hire people with Greencards? I know all airlines like to portray that they do hire candidates with Greencards, but from what I've been told, the vast majority of airlines like to steer clear of them because of the added paperwork involved. Anyone know if this is the case at ASA?

if someone doesn't want to hire you, train you or refuses the job JUST because you have a Permanent Residency, any immigration attorney will be more than glad to talk to you.
In order to get a job in US you need to be a citizen OR have the right to live and work in USA. Permanent Residency allows you to do so.

After Sept. 11 some carriers like ACA jumped the gone to require citizenship for applicants and we got together as "green card pilots" and started to edjukate them.

On the other hand, hidden racism does happen from time to time; not in companies of the size of ASA though.

If we close our borders how will we spread this message? Who will fill the ranks of our graduate schools along with Americans? How will we create an environment where our wares will be purchased overseas if we become isolationist.

May I remind you that here in the US the unemployment rate is around 5%. If you have ever studied any basic economics you would know that that is considered virtual employment due to transience and the fact that some people will not get up and go to work out of choice i.e some Americans...cue the ambitious immigrant who will work hard, procreate and instill that ethic in his or her AMERICAN offspring making this country better off (higher tax revenues...Sherlock).


Do us all a favor will you...get a clue and while you are at it go pick up a book and read about isolationism and how it works... need a hint on where to start. Pyongyang.

I have seen more of America than most of the Americans i know. It's a beautiful country with no doubts about it.

On the other hand, i pitty the fool that thinks that permanent residents just got off some Chinese ship container to do some work.

Some of us come here because of the opportunity of higher education. There are more foreign born PhD candidates in this country than "Born in the USA" types. Explain that for a moment.

Some of us are here because we found our love in an American gal/guy.

Some of us are here because we invested in this country. You tell me to go back home, but i will have to fire 15 American CFIs, front desk personnel and some other people that do business with.

Now, as a "Born in the USA" American you can do all of these above in Europe, Asia, Australia and still be like us. I know, I know you are going to say "I ain't leaving my USA" but the point that i am trying to make is these things are legit ways of immigrating and every country allows that..

If it wasn't for immigration, we wouldn't have enough doctors and nurses to nurse your s!ck ass back to health if neccessary. The US invites people from other countries over to fill shortages in the job market. Right now there is a huge shortage of qualified doctors and nurses for example. There are many more professions the US is looking for right now that need to be filled and the US is looking outside to fill these positions. Why? To help us become an even stronger economical power. There are simply not enough US Citizens graduating from US universities to fill the demand.

It is a fact that it is very hard to immigrate to the US. Just have a look at the immigration website. You either need to have family ties, hold a Masters Degree or better, have a significant amount of money to invest into the US economy AND employ US Citizens or be a top athlete that will compete for the US or be a political refugee.

You also seem to forget that a substantial number of American troops defending you sorry A$$ are immigrants with green cards and are not yet US Citizens.

Granted, illegal immigration is a major issue that needs to be addressed ASAP, but that is something totaly different.
