Bid 2010-06a Results Announced; Some Furlough Recalls Will Occur as a Result

Your Membership Committee and MEC have been working with management since shortly after bidding closed for Bid 2010-06a. During the processing of the bid, your committee volunteers, in conjunction with Company representatives, identified 16 vacancies that would be created by this bid.

These vacancies will be filled, but they do not necessarily translate into 16 recalls. These vacancies still need to be processed to determine the precise number of recalls that will occur. However, some recalls will undoubtedly occur as a result of this bid.

What Happens Now?
Since bid 2010-06a was processed, your MEC officers and committee volunteers have been meeting with Company representatives to clarify how recalls will occur in accordance with Section 23 and the language contained in the furlough mitigation MOUs. We will continue to be involved in the process and will advocate for any opportunities to return furloughed pilots back to active status.

The certified letters were a grievance settlement for the company not stating the duration of furlough. I doubt it will be that long as they have started recalling instructors and there are rumors of block hour increases in the near future.

I guess the proper way to say it...They are inviting back some of the instructors they sent back to the line. Is that better?

The people returning from LOA/military and voluntary furlough get first rights to recall. If there are vacancies, there will be recalls.

Just to be sure I understand what you are saying...If 14 people are coming back from LOA/mil leave/vol furlough then their would be NO recalls. If only 7 come back then there would be 7 recalls...Right?
